Love the app, hate the update

cuzimnatalie

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE shopping here, the clothes are always in good condition and the prices are nice, BUT the update will really hinder me from shopping on here as often. I had almost 900 points saved up to spend on my next purchase, unfortunately at the moment I don’t have much money to splurge right now (I just got married and we’ve been going through some financial hardship) but I was really excited to spend them on the next pay check that I got. When I updated and opened the app I found that the update took all of my points away and left me with a measly 81. I’m not joking. I saved up the points to get $10 off my next purchase so I could get something for myself for the new year and everything was gone. With the update I can’t earn the points as fast as I could have before. Unfortunately the only way you can earn a lot of points is to buy and I just don’t have the money for it and to be honest, the “perks” you get from each tier aren’t really worth it unless you spend $1000 a year on the app. ThredUp: please bring back daily login rewards!!! That was one of the only ways I could afford to buy from here because of the shipping costs!

Replaced Goodwill for me ?

I’ve found outfits comparable to thrift shop prices that are name brand and look completely new to me. Love this app ??????

Great Sustainable Option

Nuclear.Momshell

I love thrifting, but there aren’t a lot of options in my rural area. Thred up is where sustainability meets affordability and ACCESSIBILITY when you don’t live in a big city with a lot of resale shops. There’s room for improvement (as with anything) in searching for items. There used to be a “find similar items” button that disappeared, and I miss it. There’s also no description of how a fabric feels outside of its fabric content. Is it Jersey? Is it flannel? Is it ponte? This can be really hard to tell just based on the picture, especially for dark colored items, and I’ve gotten a few surprises to be honest. There are also a number of times a measurement would be helpful but are missing, like skirt waist sizes. The length is given but that doesn’t tell me if I can wear it. When you can’t try this stuff on and there’s a restocking fee if you return it these little things go a long way.

Um..

So really I have no say on if this app is bad or not because I am unable to use it! The app requires you to sign in off the bat like any normal app but for some reason no matter what I try thread up won’t allow me to sign up… I have tried signing up on my computer, phone, iPad and tried to use multiple emails but it just won’t work. I assume it is an issue with the server so I’m putting out this review in hopes you will fix it. I found a top I really liked online but I can’t check out unless I sign up. The top most likely gone by now seen as lots of people saved it. But please get this problem fixed. I would love to use this app and if it’s possible I would love that top, so please please fix your app and online store. Thank you.

Don’t do it.

Denise Treadwell Smith

Don't do it!!! I would leave no stars if I could. I tried ThreadUp a couple of times and both times were not positive. The first time I tried a GoodyBox. I thought it was a fun, less expensive alternative to the otherclothing services out there (stitch fix, etc.) The clothes I received in my box were HORRENDOUS. I did the quiz. I liked some things on the platform to provide examples of my style. Not only that, but every piece of clothing looked like it had been pulled from a bin at Goodwill. It was rolled up in a ball and so wrinkled up it could barely lie flat. The items were not "gently worn" either. One sweater had a HUGE hole in the front. Like, ya couldn't miss it. I'm not adverse to holes in my clothes if they are in a place that doesn't scream at you. This most recent time I ordered a few things. They came in 3 shipments, which is fine, but the items that didn't fit are returned at a $1.99 restocking fee PLUS I PAY for shipping unless I want store credit. They advertise easy returns and my bad for not reading about the restocking fee AND the store credit part. But man, if I buy something that is not possible to try on, is seems like I should be able to return it at no cost. In the end, I will have lost about $20 for my trouble. I will never shop at Thred Up again, so I hope the $20 was worth it to them. Also, the platform recommends using the chat feature, but then no one comes on to chat. It's frustrating and bad business all around. And disappointing...especially when you are trying to do the right thing by shopping sustainably and economically.

It’s a little ridiculous they don’t sell mens clothes

tkyer72838

5 months to process my clean out bag and counting!

No ability to talk to an actual representative! Sent in two bags and it’s been over 5 months! Ridiculous!

Zero customer support

Dom1280

I have reached out twice regarding a refund I was supposed to receive as they left an item out of my order. It has been two weeks and no refund and no word from ThredUP. It’s great as long as you don’t have an issue.

Not a fan of the new app

Bastet429

I don’t like some of the new features, or really the fact that some features have been eliminated (like the ability to view your current bundle). I can never track my shipments through the app—always get a message that “oops” something went wrong. Also, I understand that you place certain restrictions on coupon codes, but those restrictions should be made clear before you redeem the code, irrespective of the fact that the information may be listed elsewhere in the app. It would not take much to add that feature. Also, while this is not an app issue, I’ve noticed more incorrect product descriptions lately. I recently bought a jacket that was listed as size 8, only to see that it is S for small when I received it. There was also a tissue in the pocket, leading me to wonder how thoroughly items are examined.
