Customer Service

Dee in the DMV

I have been using this company for years and mostly like it. The prices aren’t always fair but I am aware that the owner of the material set the prices. Additionally, I think the organization takes a big cut of the profit from sales. They often mislabel items which deceased and hinders the sale of items. My biggest complaint is the customer service. They worst I have ever since and this is even before COVID. Pretty much non-responsive.

I placed my first order with ThredUP and was blown away at the discount and wonderful product I received. It also was delivered in just two days and in such a beautiful box and tissue paper too. Thank you for encouraging others to shop #secondhandfirst!

Get rid of FedEx

Mowander

I’ve mostly had good experiences, although they really need more accurate descriptions. I’ve learned to only by “like new” or “new with tags” clothing. The biggest problem however, is FedEx. They take an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to deliver anything. Literally the USPS would be faster. Do they carry the stuff in horse and buggy???

Never matches

Put in a 32 men’s? Get a size 16 women’s. Ridiculous

Shady Shipping Charge Practices- please read!

mugs28

They always have decent finds and I haven't been disappointed and you can get some good deals. I knocked 2 stars because they screw you on shipping if you have any credits from selling items which I feel is super shady. You need $75 in items pre tax to qualify for free shipping, however, if you add any cash credits to that purchase that you may have from selling items and taking the credits versus the cash payout, they use that credit against your qualifying shipping cost. So if you add $80 worth of clothes and have a $10 dollar credit, you lose your free shipping and now must pay $5.99 shipping cost. I just find that practice to be shady overall and leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Love!

Thred up is so great. Love the points I get and the amazing selection. I also really like the idea of buying items that have been gently used. I want to reduce my footprint and waste. I have a goal of only purchasing gently used items and not buying new.

Notifications don’t work - sort of fixed

This app never notifies me when things show up in my saved searches, I keep missing out on stuff I really want to buy because of this. It’s a cool place to buy stuff but between technical issues and jacking up prices randomly on like cheaper clothing and sometimes receiving things that are marked as ‘like new’ and they’re stained or damaged, it’s hard to give a good rating. Edit: right after I left this review it started working, so I guess it gets another star for that, but Ive frequently run into tech issues the few years I’ve been using it.
