Great for buying - NOT for selling

I love the concept of this company. I have found excellent deals on the site. It's great for purchasing and I have spent well over $500 with this company in less than a month. I'm giving it 3 stars for a few gripes - in one of the several orders I placed, one of the items wasn't as described. It took me forever to get ahold of customer service (good luck finding a phone number or email - all those links do is direct you to the FAQ's). After finally typing into a "live" customer service convo box (which wasn't live because they follow strict business hours and no weekends) I sent a message and waited. After a full 7 days and no response, I sent a follow-up inquiry and FINALLY someone responded. They offered me a discount or a refund and when I opted for a discount, it took them yet another 7 days (and another prompt from me) to reply (still no discount applied to my bank account yet, either). Personally, I think a 14 day turnaround on customer service is a bit excessive - especially after the amount of money I spent with their company in such a short time. A few other things that irk me: little girls tops/shirts listed and priced as dresses. The people listing should be more knowledgeable- and a few instances of cheaper brands listed as very expensive. As for selling to them - DON'T do it. I sent in a bag with well over 40 items and they paid me $14 - minus $9.99 to return the 5 items to me that they decided not to keep. So, I made a whopping $4.90 and they will make well over $300 for the items they "bought" from me. Buy, buy, buy - but don't send in your stuff until they step up their "buying" process to be a bit more fair.

I have been buying/selling on Thredup for some time now. I'm really happy they starting adding measurement descriptions to the jeans so I can order more accurately.
Functional but Needs Improvement

It is a very clean and streamlined app. However, it lacks a lot in assisting searches. I don't regularly search for items based on name brands as I seek out items by using descriptor words. I believe this service could really maximize their profits and increase customer and client traffic by actually coming up with several search words for each item listed. Say I want to find anything associated with the word "patchwork", it doesn't give me any results. I at least expected a shirt, jeans, jacket, or a handbag that resembles patchworking. This lacking feature is what is holding me back from shopping on ThredUp. I do not want to sift through each brand or each category for a long time to find something that I'd buy. It's a turn off and I leave the app immediately to go elsewhere.

I've ordered 3 times from thredup and everything has been great. I do wish they had more and better views and descriptions, but the prices and quality so far have been great.

Payout amount to me is absolutely rediculous!! If I could get it ALL back I would!! I sent in all NWT items or items worn once!! I sent Victoria's Secret, Coach, Limited, Appaman, NY & CO, and a couple other high end brands!! 12 items accepted and I only get $47?? Minus the 9.99 shipping fee back to me?? Not right. Not to mention the items I see others sending are extremely old and out dated! Website always had items listed incorrectly as well! I'm discusted. I'll be sure to spread the word to everyone I can about the robbery going on here!!

The quality is fantastic prices are realistic great designer clothing and handbags! Have done four clean outs and waiting on my 4th bag to process but credit for clean outs takes weeks which I understand but they ship what you buy quickly! I would recommend buying from this site but I don't recommend this site for selling because they discard more than they buy. But for a shopaholic this is the greatest place to shop!

You can find all kinds of treasures on ThredUp . It does take a lot of digging though but so worth it . The extra promo coupons they send to their customers are fabulous .
