I couldn't upgrade my seat from coach to business on the app. So I called and waited 2 hours. By the time I reached someone they said because I was on the train it wouldn't work so I should talk to the train conductor but the train conductor said to call an agent. All to say, 2-3 hours wasted when I could have just easily upgraded and pay more for a better seat on the app for like 2 minutes of my time.

Holiday travel time and the app has had technical problems that prevent login for days now

I don’t usually write reviews for apps but lately I’ve really had a very pleasant experience booking with Amtrak. I’ve had to make more plans or adjustments to my trips than I thought I would have, due to Covid, and the user experience has been a real surprise. The app itself works great and when I needed to change the starting point of my journey, I used the chat function and Luke was very helpful and efficient in making the change. I was really surprised in the best way—y’all have figured it out!

I log into my account and go into settings. I am unable to enable trip updates and status. I think you should be able to do this.

This app gets better each year and the UI is much nicer in comparison to the app 5 years ago.
