Wag Fired Me Days before Christmas Eve

Wag fired me on Christmas Eve because my client illegally recorded a conversation I had in the home without my consent, flipped my words against me, and I let my husband in to use the restroom. Instead of contacting me directly he contacted Wag! and got me fired. They had no compassion for the fact that Im poor, black and walking sometimes up to eight dogs just to make ends meet. I almost didn’t take the job but with the pandemic we weren’t sure how we would be able to afford even basic necessities. I’ve gotten by and poached clients from the app who I worked with directly and who love me but if you have a heart, pay someone you know directly for their dog walking services. Not these clowns who leave people and dogs high and dry during the holidays in a pandemic.
Lost my dog and have done nothing to help

A Wag walker lost my dog on Jan. 5th and Wag has refused to help us get a tracker or give any resources other than “spreading the word” - Google Wag and lost dogs. They take 0 responsibility. Don’t trust them.

I have been using Wag for four months. I work as a teacher and live alone with my Husky, so I am sometimes too tired to take her and she becomes restless without two weeks each day. While I have found one great walker, sometimes, when she is unavailable, I am forced to use whoever this app assigns. Over the winter break, I needed to travel, and wag assigned me a sitter who was unresponsive. I asked my neighbor to watch her instead, but at the last minute, wag assigned a new sitter. This sitter seemed to do a good job with Elsa (she took video of her and texted me once a day). But when I got home, not only did Elsa have extra meals in the fridge (implying she did not eat for more than a day) but I was missing $20 worth of batteries, four rolls of toilet paper, four rolls of paper towels, and more. I emailed customer service and they have called me twice during work hours, leaving a number that sends me to their automated service. Additionally, I will occasionally hire a walker when I am home or get a call saying they cannot access the home or listing some other problem (so far this has only happened if the weather is poor… raining or below 15 outside). The walkers have claimed I do not have a leash, the box doesn’t work properly, etc. To try to get out of the walk! While I have found one walker who is consistent at recording walks and who does a great job, it just isn’t worth it to use a whole service for this. I’m going to try next door or ask around (which I should have done in the first place.. I just needed this service because I just recently moved to the city). Anyways, be aware “vetted” is a loose term for these workers. Try to just hire someone you know instead.

Love the service but the ads have to stop. The only way is to completely disable the notifications via iOS app settings. I even asked customer support. This seems crazy
No ethics or compassion for pet owners

Dog dies in walkers possession? Nothing. Dog gets lost in walkers possession? Nothing. Dog is stolen by the walker? Nothing. Walker steals from inside peoples homes? Nothing. Disgusting company with zero compassion when things go wrong. Do not trust them. Find a friend you trust to watch your beloved fur babies.
No vetting at all, you can’t pick your walker

They don’t allow you to pick your walker, and they don’t vet the walker at all, outside of a pathetic background check. Search online for dogs lost and killed because of wag.

This company has continuously let customers dogs die, be killed, and have employees burglarize peoples homes. It’s despicable what they allow to happen and have no remorse.
Crashed during my walk

This app worked the other day for my first walk. But today it crashed right during my walk. I gave special instructions and told the walker to message me with questions. It’s been 30 minutes since the walker took my dog and I have no idea how the walk went because the app won’t open. Very frustrating.

Yes I give wag a five star. I wouldn’t trust me. But, story time. So I could t go two houses. 1. Due to a run 2. I was to far away. So I called the wag helpline and the guy took my violation off. Witch is awesome. Because I couldn’t help it. I try to contact to pet parent about why I be late for the walk. One send me a message back the other never said anything. Yes I love talking to the pet parents. Because well it like kids you wanna know the person coming is friendly right? Same with animals parents. Now If they don’t talk back well that on them. But, anywho. I been working with wag for a week. And yes I got mad at them for putting a violation on me. But, so happy they took it off. So that is why I give them a five star. Most people would tell me o well. And they didn’t do it. So yes I’m a very happy girl that I got them on my side for stuff I couldn’t help.
