This app cheated me out of money

I was part of a theatrical performance and needed a secured spot to park on the nights of my performances. I reserved a spot for the three nights of my shows at a local parking garage using this app. On the first night I was almost unable to use my reservation because there were no spots left in the. Garage when I arrived but someone luckily left before I drove away. The second night, I was unable to use my reservation because every single parking spot in the garage was taken. Why did I use this app if it can’t even guarantee me the spot that I paid for. So I was forced to leave the garage I had a reservation for and drive to a different one that charged me more money. So I was out the money I paid for my reservation, AND out the money for the new garage. The final night of my performance, I was luckily able to find a spot in the garage, however, when I went to drive home I waited for over 10 minutes with no one picking up on the call centers to give them my reservation code. There were 3 cars trying to exit as well and the people driving those vehicles were becoming irate. Eventually, after waiting for over 10 minutes with no response, I was forced to pay for my parking with the garage itself on top of my useless reservation. I am so mad at SpotHero, and I will never use this app again. I will also tell anyone and everyone to never bother with it. It ripped me off and I can only assume that it will rip off everyone else. If you have any sense of reason but have this app, delete it. And if you have never used this app before, keep it that way and skip it. SpotHero cheated me out of my money.
What a terrible app

We pulled up to 221 Thompson St in NYC after pre-paying $56 for a spot (oversized fee for a Nissan Murano) and the very rude man said there was no space. I said we had a reservation and showed him the code and he said, “there’s no room. Not my problem.” I then tried to get a refund and Spot Hero would only give me Spot Hero credit. The option to refund my card would not work. Thankfully, I found another garage at 3 West Village Square with honest and polite people but if not, Spot Hero would have kept my $56 and I would have been out. Do NOT use this terrible app.
Worst parking app experience

I booked through spothero in Manhattan and the garage wasn’t available when I got there. I ended up not using the pass. They are taking forever to refund it. Every time there is a new support member contacting me and they ask different things I’ve been sending them my app screenshots of reservations and bank statements and they are just not specific what they want. Honestly a very bad experience.

We had to cancel the parking and were delighted to get a refund as park spot credit for future use . Better than money lost .
Makes reserving a spot easy but at a cost.

Reserved a spot via the app. at $18.70. Arrived at my destination 20 minutes early and was charged an additional $6 for entry prior to my scheduled time (light traffic day). The Parking structure had an early bird rate of $15. Using Spot Hero actually cost me $9.70 more than if I had just driven to my destination.

This app has helped e save so much time and headache. The flexibility it offers is unprecedented. Every step is designed to be helpful including small details like making a booking ahead of time even if you don’t know vehicle info right away (like when you get a rental). And not to mention the fact that I love clean and simple design with a few Easter eggs hidden .You can tell that people love making this app, and I love using it!
