Problems with app

The products themselves are fantastic. However, I find the app very frustrating and out of date. I continue to have issues receiving notifications on my phone. I attempt to set it up In the app; however, it alerts me that my push notifications are disabled and to go edit this in settings. So, I do that and all of my push notifications are set to ‘on’. I then go back to the app and it continues to tell me my notifications are off. Also, the app is continuously kicking me, and my husband, out.

I purchased an indoor camera and it is a little laggy but the picture is fine. The biggest draw back to this camera is the strange noise when live streaming or when playing back a recording. It sounds like someone is typing on a old fashioned typewriter and drowns out anything in the background that may not be seen on the camera. I wish I would have checked harder on the reviews before purchasing because just about everyone who has a SimpliSafe camera is experiencing the same problem and by the looks of it SimpliSafe doesn’t care. Regret
Good but annoying

After a few years of using this app, I have found it to be up and down in terms of its reliability. It’s been updated and many of the old issues a long since fixed. However, it still has some issues that make it frustration to use sometimes. I have a lot of issues with the app claiming it cannot connect to the base station(while on the same network). Sometimes it sets the status but the app doesn’t reflect it. For example, I can use it to de-arm the system and it will spin and spin. I’ll finally decide to enter the house and use the keypad only to find that the system is already off. It’s also EXTREMELY annoying that it keeps logging me out every 30 days, and then requires a code it texts to me to complete the sign in. I completely understand the purpose, but if I have used the app in the last 30 days, there’s no point. That means there is a 1 in 30 chance that if someone got my phone and tried to use the app that the thief would be unlucky enough to be signed out of the app. Defeats the purpose. Additionally, I used to use Face ID to unlock the app. Even MORE annoying is the fact that this setting defaults to off when I have to sign in again. That is nothing more than poor design that my settings are reset just because the app signed out. It’s easy to use and is definitely a nice feature, but be prepared for a lot of ups and downs with the user experience.

This app control does a good job at turning the system on and off. If the system alarm goes off SimpliSafe alerts me in seconds.

The security system is easy to install, set up and use. Our office had been broken into several times prior to installing SimpliSafe. We haven’t had any worries about security after our SimpliSafe install. Thank you!

Watch App Not Working

System itself and monitoring service are perfect, 5 stars +. Phone app works great. Watch app is pointless and constantly stuck on “refreshing” unless phone app is open as well … one of the reasons we switched to this service was to have watch functionality as advertised. Worked fine for awhile, but not for the last several months. Needs appropriate update.
