The secret behind using a product consistently is the ease of installation and the ease of operation. SimpliSafe hits both points.

Buggy and Unreliable

This app is totally unreliable. Most of the time it is unable to communicate with the base station to change settings. Sensors randomly fail to respond. No 24/7 technical support. The developers response below completely misses the point. I DO in fact have a monitored plan. And NO, there is no 24/7 tech support. The app itself cannot connect to the base station reliably.

The App is good. It works well but it could be improved. A feature that I’d like for example: - Device settings list in a shortcut, not all the way inside the settings. Because I’d to access it quickly to verify what sensors are open and what is closed when I’m on Home mode and some windows are purposely left open by only 3inches with a blocker to not go further.

To be honest, this is my first security system. I usually rely on multiple muscular dogs with super scary barks but big old Teddy Bears at heart to guard the house! I’ve never Locked a door ? This situation, buying a house but not “officially” moving in for a few months, required a different security system. I researched and opted for SimpliSafe. What a Breeze!! My husband put everything up while I connected them to the system and we had it up and running in 20mins or less. I can check the app and have a look in on my house with the HD camera while I’m over 800 miles away. Seriously, probably one of the easiest steps during the whole new house experience!

App Update Causes Problems

Everytime there is an app update, without fail, I start getting a “Device Connection Error” message. Half of the time, the app doesn’t work now. Frustrating!

I have had Simplisafe service now for almost four (4) years. I have had one issue with the sim card / cellular connection during that time and it was resolved very promptly. The staff is always exceptionally nice and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend any other alarm system!

This app is quite simple — and that’s not a bad thing. When it comes to home security, simplicity is a big plus. I’m not sure if it was changes to the app, or changes to the new generation of hardware (which I recently purchased), but I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement in response time between the app and base station. I am a big fan of this company and its products. If you are considering a home security system, or even one for a small business, SimpliSafe is the way to go.
