App continues to say base station busy or can’t communicate with base station. Worthless at this point
Love it 2007
This app works decent, but one issue that continues happening is when I go to settings, then device. Once there, the app tries to do something, then just shuts down altogether. I have tried several times with no success.

Cant set from phone keeps saying base station busy on top of already malfunctioning motion detector that Simplisafe wont exchange. I thought i made a good decision with this brand but clearly I should have paid better attention to warnings of these issues from other users. I spent almost $600 on this system plus monthly monitoring what a waste :-(

So the same light that informs me the Camera is actively recording will randomly turn on. Support says it's just to let us know the camera is still connected but that's what I have the app for. Very creepy to try and figure out if someone is watching remotely. Customer Idea: enable a push notification to the simplisafe app ANY time the camera is recording with the option to ignore recordings for alarm off/on/event trigger. So if I use the simplisafe website from work my wife gets a notification on the app that someone with my login credentials is watching. Just peace of mind for a network camera that randomly lights up. That's terrible design.

This app should allow better information and control. 1) Should show what sensor is triggered according to user specified name. (ie. back door sensor triggered. 2) Should also show what sensor is malfunctioning (ie. bedroom #2 motion sensor not responding) 3) Should allow direct user control to configure and modify the system with all the capabilities of the main control panel. 4) Should also offer a comprehensive app. for Macs too.

The "no contract" promise on the Simplisafe website is just a marketing trick. While it is true that you can use the system without a monitoring subscription, it is pretty useless since you won't be able to use the app. So if you are away from home, you won't know if the alarm gets triggered. Even their basic plan gl($15/mth) doesn't include app usage. You will need to pay $25/mth to get access to the app.

Update: can you also add 3D Touch menu to app icon so I can easily arm and disarm system? Now I need to open app, wait for it to get current state, then tap new state. Would be good to make it one tap from 3D Touch menu. Thanks. The app is ok but for $10/month it should be better. Biggest problem for me is that it often shows state that’s out of sync. Eg your alarm is off but it still shows away. Sometimes if you wait a few sec it corrects itself. Sometimes it’s stuck with bad state maybe due to bad network but there is no error or message to tell you it failed. One simple fix is to at least give user a refresh button so they can manually refresh. And if network error happened, at least pop up an alert so user knows the state might not be accurate. Should be easy to implement. Just do that ios pull refresh thing.
