I wish I could zero star. It has been crashing. It eventually downs full iOS system now, as of iOS 12.x~14. FLIR doesn’t want to fix it for years now. They abandoned it. DO NOT BUY flir IR camera. Buy other brand’s standalone model with the same money unless you want to buy the FLIR every year.

Keeps asking for photos access

Every single time I launch the app, it’s asking for access to my entire photo library. Give it up, FLIR! You don’t need it and you’re not getting it. To FLIR support: Yes, I know why your app asks *once*. It doesn’t need to ask again on every single launch. Also, I think this API has been revamped since you last checked. Please spend more time looking into that and less reading your app store reviews.

Crashed / locked up my new iPhone 11... Because I’m using their 2nd gen product. Trying to force me to buy the latest... You people are the worst!!! Maybe you buy / use Thermal Plus + app. It was way better than this, to bad it’s not on the App Store any more. #cancelflir

Locks my iPhone XR when toggling flashlight

I just got my FLIR One and downloaded the app. I have iPhone XR, iOS 14.3. When toggling the flashlight function within the app, especially when turning OFF the flashlight I’ve managed to lock up my phone several times. The app freezes, the phone doesn’t respond to any buttons or swipes. After 5-10 minutes, the screen goes dark and I’m able to use the phone again. I’ve used the FLIR One 4-5 times and locked up my phone every time, usually after just a few minutes. I need the flashlight feature because I’m looking for air leaks in my basement. I will return the camera soon unless I can find a solution to this issue.

I’ve been using flir products for several years and have recently upgraded to the high end thermal camera. I’m having serious issues with my older FlirOne crashing my phone. I’m no longer able to use this device when needed for examine smaller areas of homes. I’m hoping there will be an app update soon or I will have to switch to a more reliable infrared competitor. Super bummed.

Slowly dying...

Used to be a somewhat buggy but useable app. Now it’s become useless and forces resets on an iPhone X. Freezes after 10 seconds, randomly stops working. Sad ending to a great tool.

The update reduces framerate

I can’t believe that they allowed the update to reduce frames and still haven’t posted a fix. I wish I could go back I used to have smooth video and now its terrible. Jessss.

Buggy!

Crashes frequently and loses connection that needs to be disconnected, turned off and the app restarted. Great tool when it works. Any way the creator can reach out? I’m tired of this $300 device not working. EVER. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I will not wipe my phone, so don’t suggest that ignorant workaround attempt.

FLIR one for iOS is complete junk

For over two years I had a FLIR one Pro for Android, that I used for my Home Inspection Business. The Android version worked great for literally hundreds of uses. I recently switched to an Apple phone so I bought the same model for iOS. In less than three months the unit refuses to work except for the once in a blue moon it decides to then I can usually take one picture and the unit shuts off. I’ve check to make sure the battery is charged and not low. Still the same thing. Now it’s gotten to the point where I plug the unit into the phone turn it on, it looks like it’s going to start up. The light starts flashing green. But before the IR screen can come up the unit shuts off. All this for $400 save your money don’t buy one of these things FLIR doesn’t want you to anyway they want to have you buy one of their $1000+ Thanks for nothing FLIR.
