It’s not even like app for you phone is it just a stupid product site People think this is like it is a widget thermal camera for the phone so if they want to go just click on the app and rack should be thermal vision but now it’s just a stupid product site

FLIR One / Gen 1 Issues

App has issues with the first generation FLIR One. Within less than a minute the screen will go back to the “plug in your FLIR One to See the Heat” screen. Apparently this is a known issue according to some simple google searching. The only current fix is to shut down the iPhone and FLIR One and disconnect and reconnect. It’s understandable that the Gen 1 units are technically obsolete but there’s no excuse for the software to have these issues. More is expected from a company with a long history of reliability.

Flir one for ios useless

I used the device for troubleshooting electronics. Most functions don’t work and device loses connection after a minute or so. Battery is still at or near 100% but still cuts out! This has happened over the last year or two becoming more and more unstable on all my ios devices; ipad mini, ipad air, iphone 8 and iphone x. I do not recommend this or similar product since you have to shell out hundreds of dollars to buy the latest model because they don’t support compatibility of their equipment but for a short time. You get a year or two of use then it becomes useless trash. I NEVER would have purchased this junk if I’d realized it is disposable. I don’t want to further contribute to global warming by purchasing another FLIR throw away. Shame on FLIR! What a waste!

Temperature font is unreadable, and other UI issues

The font for temperature readings in the spot and roi meters is unreadable. White font with transparency and no border/shadow - makes reading the temperatures for hotspots completely unreadable. There is no option to change the font color, so I end up spending most of my time messing with the palettes and IR scales to change the backgrounds just so I can read the temperatures. This is insane, and ends up killing the already weak battery. Other UI issues - Shutter button at the bottom of the screen is a pain to use - you can improve the UI to hold the phone upside down (camera on top of phone), or allow the the volume buttons etc to be used as the shutter similar to the regular iPhone camera app. IR scale is unintuitive to use. I’m not sure what I’m clicking and dragging as nothing moves. Maybe show a visible temperature range slider?

I use a $10K FLIR IR camera around my work and it’s amazing. This little FLIR iPhone attachment camera is really great for $400! For what I need it to do at home, I have no complaints. It finds hearing/cooling loss spots, overloaded electrical outlets/power strips, and just plain old fun ways to take pictures. I think folks who rate this product low lack a realistic expectation of what 400 bucks buys you in a infrared camera. I love it.
