Ember - Perfected.

I almost didn’t get this mug based on the featured reviews here...but this mug is a great device. Ember has perfected its technology: the app works perfectly. But even better, the mug works perfectly. It detects if it’s in use and works accordingly (with or without the app being activated). If you’re wondering if Ember ready ... it is ... just like my coffee.

Great product, fix the timer

Charlie Omak

No complaints about the actual hardware, but the app’s tea timer stops every time the screen locks.

EMBER—Fix the app!!!

You have a great product and concept but the issues with the connectivity of the app to the device is maddening! Figure out what the problem is and correct it!

Lame

Impossible to stay connected. You will spend most of your time trying to get it to work, not knowing if it is on or working. Didn’t Bluetooth connectivity problems get figured out like 5 years ago? Fail. Nice product if it worked, really enjoy the constant temp when it does work.

Good but could be Great

Love the mug! Had it for 6 months now and haven’t had a single issue. I make probably 3 cups in it every morning. App works well too never had a problem syncing/connecting. I only wish that it displayed the mug battery percentage in the default screen with the temp. Especially on the Apple Watch. A new complication showing both maybe? Only reason I’m giving it a four and not a 5 star.

Apple watch app does not work

NEKNIM

Can't seem to get the apple watch companion app to work. Only says "issues with connection to phone"

Drains battery like crazy!!!

Ariesrabbit

The mug itself is OK and this review is mainly about the app. Functionality wise the app delivers what it supposed to. But be prepared to lose a lot of battery if you don’t force quit the app after setting the temperature, because obviously the app would drain the battery do to background activities. To check this for yourself, go to settings, then batteries. For me personally, this app uses up to 10% of my batteries and I use a lot of onscreen apps. Other than the battery issue, the app is good. Although I’d be happy to see if Siri shortcut could be added.

Seriously?

Why should I have to “sign-up” control my mug? Ridiculous.

Has no memory function

Every day, sometimes more than twice a day I have to reset the temp in the mug, 130 is not hot enough. 130 is its normal setting. I want it set at 145, I have to set it every day through the app. Even when you set your “presets” for coffee or tea you still have to go in and manually change it. 130 degrees is like drinking slightly warmer than room temp and I don’t know why it is the standard reset it gives me every day. Nice to have, don’t understand why the app can’t remember changes in the temp from day to day.

Won’t pair after 5 months

My wife and I got Ember ceramic mugs for Christmas. Neither one works now. Loved it while it worked but not enough to buy a new one every 5 months.
