V2.1.2

Updated this morning (iPhoneX, 11.2.1). Heat setting will only display 130 degrees, even with presets. Also, some weird errors, “no writing allowed here”? Worked fine before it was fixed.

Wait for the beta version

I’ve had this product for a week and I love it I use it several times a day. However, the mug is already having some issues. At least once a day I have issues reconnecting the mug to my phone. I have the latest software, but when I open the app it says the bluetooth isn’t turned on. If I open the settings, the bluetooth option will say I’m connected to my ember mug.... I’ve already had to reboot the firmware and restart my phone numerous times. With regards to the actual product specs: a one hour utility time for a one-and-a-half hour charging time? That’s ridiculous. No, I don’t need two hours to drink my coffee; Rather, I drink two coffees + an unquantifiable amount of tea over the course of any given day. It’s nice to keep my beverages consistently warm over the course of my day at work. The plug-in saucer is a bit campy. Couldn’t they at least figure out a wireless charging situation between the mug and saucer? The copper prods are a bit ghastly-looking. Not to mention the charging “saucer” is not liquid-proof and needs to stay completely dry.... so much for catching spills. Despite all my complaints, I’ve still used this 20+ times in the last five days, so the concept is clearly solid and the product is functional! I just wish it fit more seamlessly into my routine.

Nice cup; problems with software

Johnandtanner

Works as advertised, but setting default temperature for coffee is a problem. When you type in the new temperature, the keyboard covers the “save” button, so you can’t save the new setting. Really?! What a bonehead bug in the software.

Feature request

I wish I could turn off the led in addition to dimming or have the green charged led timeout after a set period. I don’t like that the led is always on while on the coaster. Also scheduled water heating while on coaster would be cool.

App keeps asking to turn on notifications

Matthew Dixon Cowles

There's nothing wrong with the physical product. The app keeps asking to turn on notifications and can't be stopped. (I checked with support.) Happily I have a reason to use the app very rarely.

Issue with blue tooth connection

tae96

I love the concept and it worked great the first time I used it. Now however, the app keeps saying I'm not connected to blue tooth despite my settings showing I am connected. There is nothing I can do in the app to refresh it or get it to recognize my phone is connected to the cup! It also does not hold a charge for that long. Update: more issues! After having to disconnect and connect, forget device and repair multiple times I was able to get to the temp settings screen again and my cup was holding my coffee warm again! HOWEVER, it only lasted for 10 minutes before once again it randomly disconnected. Now my mug is not even showing as discoverable in my Bluetooth setting so it looks like it is disconnected but my coffee is scalding hot for over 15 min so it is obviously on. Since the app doesn't recognize the connection I can't adjust the temp so I had to transfer my coffee to another mug. I really really really want to love this mug! The concept is on point but the execution...not so much. I

Great idea! Doesn’t work. X2 mugs

Hawkeye_State

I really wanted one of these. It worked once, right out of the box. Now, I cannot get it to pair. Support is via email, and is slow. My advice: wait until the bugs in the mug and app are worked out before buying this. It’s way too expensive not to work right. Update: I got mine to work. I do like it, and bought my wife one. Now I’m having trouble with hers. Ugh!

Google+ or Facebook to use App

Kgk49

To use the app and control the temperature of your mug you must sign up for Google+ or Facebook if you don’t already have an account. It also wants to track your location. None of that works for me - I will return the mug. :( Keep in mind you already paid for the mug - now it wants personal information for you to control its temperature. ?

Having Problems

jejtexas

I have had my mug for slightly over a month. App is now frozen and non-responsive. Mug no longer turns on. In effect I have an $80.00 coffee mug I cannot run through the dishwasher. When it worked it worked great, it no more
