Pretty, BROKEN MULTIRIDE TRACKING

ZeU84E3T

Zero-th, Multi ride tickets don’t track the remote number of remaining rides accurately. This feels like basic functionality but just doesn’t work First, you should remove multi ride tickets that have no more rides on them. Second, finding train status should be a one or two tap exercise, like it was in the previous version of the app

Astounding miss

Zaz969

Absence of a ready access to your own booked trips is beyond me. I have to enter a reservation number and my phone/email just to get to my ticket. Back to PDF tickets...

i miss the older version of the application c.2015

laura b. n.

i used to be able to pull up my itinerary all on one convenient screen to image & send to my friend i was traveling to visit. now, it says very little about my train times, duration, non-stop not specified, and stations on a round-trip are each listed on separate pages; my e-ticket pdf in the email receipt turned out to be the only convenient way to share my travel information with those expecting my arrival & planning accordingly per my eventual departure. i miss being able to pull up an easy-to-read itinerary. i also miss when train track work delay / shuttle information was only posted if applying to your trip; at the moment, it has non-applicable alerts simply because of the larger category northeast regional north of hartford. it talks about shuttles for dates i am traveling a week after they are in effect, and for ne regional train numbers not including either of mine, down or return trip trains. making me nervous, thinking i am misreading the extended alert information since the exclamation point keeps resurfacing, for no reason at all! ** i only want to again see my itinerary listed in a list format with stations, departure times, trip time durations, train number, and date; the simple way it used to view! so easy to screenshot & show those expecting me! ** i also hope i can print out my ticket at the kiosk like i used to; no option for printing to click, e-ticket pdf & iPhone apple wallet passbook pass automatically. i plan on printing a hard copy when arriving at the station to take my trip. i hope ordering through the app did not take away that privilege! (finally, why are all rewards 6,000pts+ now? the lowest used to be around 3,500pts for gift card redemptions. Why the jump up so high? I'll never reach that in a timely fashion traveling bos to nyp & back 3-4X per year...)

Irritating

When I scroll through ticket options, it selects whatever part of the screen I place my finger to scroll. Super irritating to use, almost impossible to see ticket options.

What were they thinking!

the Northeasterner

I am a long time commuter on the Amtrak and I love it. The friendly service, the comfort, the nostalgia of traveling by the rails and the ease of travel you don’t have now-a-days with traveling by air. And surprisingly, one of Amtrak’s greatest accomplishments was their App which made traveling that much more of a delight. The original app was easy, simple, functional, made sense and WORKED. With this latest upgrade......”WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??!!” This new app is a Greek tragedy. I agree with the over ratings- “WORST upgrade ever”. Amtrak, please take a clue and restore it to the old version. Your own Conductors will prob go on strike because the headaches caused by passengers fumbling through the app just to find their reservation code.

Lost functionality

DoeWDW

I am a daily commuter with a monthly pass. The upgrade made my daily app use awful. Train status used to save the last station & train number I searched for. Now I have to reenter every time. Tickets should be shown on the main screen in date order. Now my new December ticket shows first and my November ticket is second - makes no sense. Seriously you can do better.

Fix “Add To Apple Wallet”!!!

Memeneme16272919172(27291

3 stars simply because the adding to wallet link isn’t working. It tries to download the sticker but nothing happens Please please fix it!!! When this is fixed, I’ll update the ticket.

Terrible upgrade

telesthetic

The old version of this app worked fine. The new upgrade is very bad. It is less functional and has at least 2 serious bugs. The reduced functionality is largely due to lots of clutter and useless information. For example to look up a reservation you now have to scroll through a long list of junk to get to the very bottom of the front page; being on the bottom of the page makes text entry of information hard due to scrolling issues. Just plain annoyance for a basic and important function. Was this tested on actual users? Was this done on the cheap? Definite backfire. 2 bugs: 1. The “Done” button is iffy. Most apps have this standard thing where you hit dine on a sub page and it takes you back. Rather than using the standard iOS system provided done button on upper left, the app developers made their own on upper right. Usually it doesn’t work but sometimes it does. When it doesn’t work (60% for me) you are forced to quit and restart. Very inelegant. 2. Most of the time you enter your reservation info and it finds it fine. But sometimes it just refuses to do so. It will either do nothing or simply reboot the app. And this is for an existing reservation that is paid and for which I got an email with confirmation. The old version said something like “wrong reservation number “ or “can’t find your reservation” or the like. This upgrade is silent and then suicides. Very bad. Can we have the old version back please?

Returning to paper tickets

mrbinary42

This new upgrade is nearly unusable. I'm returning to printing paper tickets which has suddenly become faster, easier, more reliable, and less stressful than using an app. Where to even begin... the UI is a cluttered mess, requiring an absurd amount of scrolling. It used to be possible to see relevant information at a glance and access it with a tap. This design change would only have been marginally terrible, except that the developers have chosen to implement non-standard UI buttons that are activated whenever you stop scrolling and your finger just so happens to be over a button. After accidentally tapping a dozen buttons and royally screwing up what I was working on while simply trying to scroll, I gave up in frustration and used the website. Pulling up tickets for the conductor to scan is difficult to navigate to, requires multiple taps, and is surrounded by other useless UI garbage. This is no good when I'm in a rush and have my hands full. And where's the feature that automatically brightened then screen when displaying a ticket? I keep my phone screen dim to save my limited battery life on a long trip, and from experience the scanners will not be able to read the QR codes. Amtrak - I realize the allure of building a fancy new app from scratch. Someone in upper management got to spearhead this project and felt really good about themselves. But you have created a fundamentally inferior experience that does not serve your passengers. Please take what you've learned from the previous app and build upon its successes, rather than throwing it in the garbage and making things needlessly difficult for your customers.

Poor effort

Jdkdnsjsisnndckdiwna

So many bugs. Favorite stations get wiped out. Unable to send ticket to Apple wallet. Guest rewards points are different than the website. Get it together Amtrak.
