Terrible app can we say freezes up!!!!

When you go to put in more than one passenger there is no escape from that screen to return to booking. In fact you have to completely reboot the IPhone to get it to reset and then for what?... so it can freeze up again! WORTHLESS APP


I used to love this app! Now, not so much

This used to be a great app and was very easy to use. The menu structure on the the home page was intuitive and simple. The latest upgrade changed the user interface, and unfortunately, not for the better. Information that used to be presented on a single screen isn’t. For example, the train number for my next trip isn’t displayed on the home page. Unwanted “notes” appear between segments. I now have to close extraneous screens, and search for info that used to be nicely organized. Reducing rating from 5 to 2, due primarily to reduced ease of use. That’s just my $.02.

Well the good news is I'm not losing my mind like I thought I was. I cannot choose a date, I cannot book round trip, etc. this update went from an easy, user-friendly app to a worthless button on my iPhone which I have now deleted. Such a shame!


Upgrade doesn’t work AT ALL!

This upgrade is the worst I’ve ever seen for an app that worked flawlessly and quickly. It won’t allow me past the #of passengers. I upgraded the app because it said it “removed bugs”. It didn’t. NOTHING happens. I used to be able to schedule and buy a ticket through the old app in less than two minutes. I had to call “Julie at Amtrak” and then had to be transferred to a human to give my email address, all of which is in my profile on the old app. So, what took two minutes previously took more than 20 minutes. Classic Amtrak. Way to sell tickets or cater to you customers.

Definitely NOT working correctly. Tried to schedule a known route (all on a train) I’ve taken before. Had unknown trains with bus legs??? To top it off, I think it showed a grossly underestimated total trip time. Doesn’t anyone test this stuff? I ran the same route through the online web site and it seemed to be OK. (some improvements need to be made there too) Only thing I can figure it that it was developed by the same politically connected idiots that did the Obama Care web software.

Can no longer download multi ride tickets to Apple wallet. It is very inconvenient to sift through emails or PDF apps to open the e-ticket.

It does not automatically apply veterans advantage discount. Need to delete it from purchase and manually enter number. Very difficult to access account information. If it’s this bad after the “upgrade” I hate to think of what it was like before.

I am not sure if this is considered to be an upgrade or a down grade but this new app is the most user unfriendly tool ever!!! Did anyone actually test this out before wasting money on it?


This new update makes things worse

I been an Amtrak customer since 2012 for the past few years the app on my iPhone worked perfectly but this recently update looks good but doesn’t work the way is supposed to. I been trying to booked a travel but when I’m trying to put the date it doesn’t work, it takes forever to get it done and once you get to pick your days for traveling back and forth it just erases everything and you have to start all over again... please Amtrak fix this problem cause is convenient for many people like me to book thru the app instead of talking to an agent... don’t get me wrong your customer service is good but I like to things fast and easy, please help!!!!
