When you request a ride, our powerful algorithm matches you with a car going your way. We’ll pick you up on your corner in about 5 minutes. Via makes sharing a car with other passengers seamless and is nearly as fast as a taxi.
Your first ride with Via costs only $5 plus tax, just a few dollars more than the bus. Keep riding for the same price when you prepay. (Prepaying is easy - just buy Ride Credit in your app.) Without prepayment, rides are $7 plus tax.

Not possible to delete payment info

This app should receive zero stars. I installed this app and created an account during a visit to NYC on the recommendation of a friend. However, finding that Lyft was less expensive, I never did use Via and tried to remove my payment info before deleting my account and the app. When I went into the app to do this, I found that there is no way to delete payment information or an account. I contacted Via Customer Support and this is the reply I received: “I'm so sorry for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, there must be a payment method in the app at all times. You can add a decoy/fake paypal account or an expired card as a payment method and once you do that, you'll be able to delete the payment method you currently have and do not want to keep stored in the system. Once this is done, please let me know so I can proceed with the deactivation of your account.” I’d like the developer to respond to this and tell me why I should have to make up fake payment information in order to delete my real payment information from the app. I realize that I need to have payment information to use the app, but there should be a way to delete payment information for those of us who are intending to delete our accounts and the app from our phones. Keeping our payment information hostage is really a bad practice and makes this company liable if our accounts are accessed illegally. An answer, please, Via developers?

Intersection pickups for shared rides and 30 seconds to hop in so you’re never sitting around waiting for the next person to get In or find the car. Easy to use, good prices, and nice drivers.
Sometimes worth it.

Constantly changing policies, changing prices based on weather and usage. Never what you except, unless you’re expecting a mediocre experience. Hires literally anyone with a pulse to drive for their company. Sometimes cheap sometimes (too frequently) 4x the usual price even with via pass. Via pass does nothing unless you live 5 blocks away from wherever you’re going. Not a supportive company and definitely overlooks customer safety and experience.

I think there’s room for Via’s model (multiple passengers, passing savings onto consumer, sensible routes...)... have taken Via home from the airport a couple times and it’s been great!

This app is so much better then lyft and Uber. I only say this because when I get my rides they are so nice like it’s either a black suburban or a Infiniti! I love this app please try this you won’t be disappointed!

I am using iPhone XR and unable to get the keyboard to type. So I am unable to even enter the verification code. I wish u guys need to fix it asap
