I use Via every day. It is a really awesome concept, and is remarkably efficient shared ride. Even more, it is so affordable for a luxury experience - one of the best new products I've used in NYC.

Best transit app, hands down. Efficient, affordable, and the smartest ridesharing algorithm I've experienced so far - no detours! Don't use any other app to get around NYC + Chicago.
Clean cars and can't beat the price

If you are not in a hurry to get all the way, for example, to FIDI from the upper east side, this is the way to go comfortably and cheaply. Just leave earlier. So far, all drivers and fellow passengers have been courteous. I've had to take this route a few times during UBER's surge pricing and the fare prices eventually pushed me to start taking the subway again after 20 years, until someone turned me on to VIA.
App is fine; service is unduly hampered by SLOW DRIVERS

First of all, I'll acknowledge that the functionality of the Via app is perfectly adequate. It has never crashed or showed signs of software bugs, and I'm able to quickly solicit a ride anytime I use the app. That being said, Via drivers are HORRIBLE more often than not. They are incentivized to pack as many customers into their cars, so they drive as slow as possible - waiting and wishing for another hurried millennial to request a ride. Now, sure, I recognize that a ride sharing service isn't meant to get you from point A to point B as fast as possible, but it is infuriating to be sitting in a car going 10 mph on the west side highway in NYC while other cars whizz right by us. More often than not I find myself struggling to contain my frustration with the slow driver. One of these days it'll surely cause me to lash out and ask him to go faster. Let's just hope that Via addresses this issue before I reach that breaking point.

If you are not using this app already in the cities they operate, you a) are missing out, and, b) might live in a cave. Love the new functionality, especially incorporating 3D Touch! Keep it coming pleaaaaaase.
De stress with a luxury ride for $5

It's a no brainer. Avoid the noise and hassle of the subway for a few dollars more. You get picked up within a few minutes of hailing the car. Go to work like a rich person.
