put Trip Fee up front

Martin.R.Rollinson

All good per other reviews, but I didn’t realize/know until after booking that Turo charged $40 on top of rental fee.

I forgot about Turo and Now I’m a host!

Mad love to Turo. This app help introduce me to a better way of renting. I love disrupting traditional ways of doing things, this takes the cake. I loved it so much that I became a host!!! Starting with 2 Tesla Model 3s and my Dodge Durango Blacktop GT!!

Not worth the hassle

I’ve had some good experiences with Turo, however when a rental company (using Turo) clearly tried to cheat me out of money. (Messaged me the trip went great, and 3 DAYS later accused me of damage, WITHOUT photos) My Turo case worker quickly closed the case and banned my account, once I said I would fight the charges with my credit card company. Check the rates, much more convenient to rent from Hertz/Enterprise now anyway, Turo ‘fees’ have gotten too high.

SCAMMED & BLACKMAILED ***CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU***

bree'anna. :D

My host, ASHLEY GARGIULO (Colorado Springs), sent in a claim to Turo for a cleaning violation, which I accepted because I did not know I was suppose to clean the car before I dropped it off. So I had to bite the bullet - well Ashley personally texted me instead of communicating through the Turo app and asked me to send her money through her CashApp and that she would cancel the claim. I sent Ashley $50 and she was not happy because she wanted $60 but I felt $50 was fair because she told me how much the car wash ($13.40) and vacuuming was ($5). So that seemed plenty fair. Ashley went through with the claim anyways and thus had me charged $154.50 to Turo which she gets a portion of and $50 privately to her. I asked her for my $50 back and her exact words: “If you leave me a positive review I will refund your $50 how is that for a good deal :)” - Host, Ashley Gargiulo (Colorado Springs) At this point I’m being blackmailed & I’ve been scammed into giving her $50 in the first place. I took this to Turo Customer Service and they said they can’t do anything about the situation because Ashley said she didn’t receive money. Therefore I’m out $204.50 because of a SCAM ARTIST & BLACKMAILER. TURO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE RENTER. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE HOST AND MAKING THERE MONEY. READ THE BAD REVIEWS PEOPLE! THEY OUTWEIGH THE GOOD! Not to mention Ashley had Turo take down my 1 star review on her page of me telling my side of the story. How’s that for Turo not caring at all about there renters?????

Cheaper than rental agency

I love Turo. I’ve used it twice now and saved at least 500 bucks over using a rental agency. I will never rent a car any other way

Worst First Experience Ever

miyomum

I scheduled my trip January 14th for a trip that starts January 19th at 10am, I got a notification on January 18th @8:10 that the vehicle is being serviced and may be available until early afternoon. Modifications are a additional charge to the customer. Which is completely out of my control due to the situation. I’m am not satisfied with my experience because of.

Will use again

Way cheaper than airport rental cars!

Shady, dishonest and very misleading

They run your credit scores without permission and will deny you at random the ability to rent a car based only on your credit score. I have a spotless driving record. I’m also in my 30s. I’m employed and a combat veteran. And this company seems to think I’m unfit to rent one of their crappy cars. Save yourself trouble and use a standard company, this app is a joke and will double your charges while calling it a “trip fee.” Waste of time.

It’s good to use until the owner claims car damages.

Upset Turo User

I’ve used Turo several times because it’s fairly convenient to use, but I’m going to close my account and never use this app again. A word of caution to everyone who uses this app. TAKE MULTIPLE PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF THE ENTIRE CAR. I recently rented out a car for a few days. Several hours after returning the car, the owner texted me saying there was damage to the front bumper. I was confused because I did not notice any damages to the car during my trip not any incidents that could have cause significant damage. I took a few photos during the check in and check out process so I went back and looked at them. In one photo from check in there was an indication of some damages to the car. My belief was that the damages must have happened before my trip and the check in photos supported this. I sent this evidence to the Turo claims department. In the end, it didn’t matter…Turo still ended up charging me a $1100 repair charge stating that the pictures weren’t “clear” enough. The thing with Turo’s policy is that they can charge you for damages even if the damages weren’t your fault. It’s guilty until proven innocent here. They don’t care about customers when it comes to claims. Use them if you want but know that you may be billed $1000+ at the end of your trip if you’re unlucky.

Too many fees added on rental price and turo still takes a percentage of owners pricing.

They need to either charge just a trip fee or just a fee for minimum coverage.. Adding both is ridiculous and makesdrivers rent less frequently.
