Sonos 1 equipment

Thornwall Bubba

The Sonos system and equipment is solid and reliable. Sonos speakers are some of the best speakers available. The Sonos system and speakers have never let me down in sound transmission and reproduction.

Disappointed

Heath O

After loving (and investing in) Sonos for many years, I feel somewhat abandoned. The new app does not play from my curated playlists. Songs frequently stop (and jump to the next song) and drop (one of my speakers on the system). Sonos offers that I should “upgrade”. I already spent thousands of dollars on the prior system, I shouldn’t need to buy new equipment to continue enjoying my music on Sonos. :-(

huge issues

drbret

We’ve had a large Sonos system for six years. Lots of glitches initially and now for the last year, my speakers keep dropping from the system, despite tech calls and lots of wasted time trying to reboot, etc. etc. So disappointed and expensive.

Patent troll

Sonos is a patent troll that I will not support anymore.

Junk

apple_sucks_bad

My Sono is always disconnecting from the app. It’s a constant battle to listen to. I should have bought a simple radio.

Deliberate slowdown

This latest version of the S1 app is horrible. It can take a literal 4 minutes to try and change one setting, and now I can’t even scroll through my rooms when trying to group speaker sets. The app readily pops up a message about checking S2 compatibility despite me knowing that many of my very expensive devices are not S2 compatible. This is a pathetic attempt to force us into purchasing new devices and fill the landfills.

Replacing all Sonos with something else

SJ - Austin TX

Because of their terrible Apps (bad communication from their company, errors that lead even their Customer Care Techs 3+ hours to attempt to resolve (yeah, try doing something as simple as updating your WiFi password - good luck), Apps that force upgrading to other versions that then fail to work: Sonos has failed. This is a real shame, because the sound is pretty good when their equipment does work. Every other competitor seems to offer Apps that are reliable and don’t waste your time and energy when all you want to do is to select music quickly and enjoy. We went from “Please take our money, we want more Sonos speakers” to “Hours of frustration, only to have the Apps break again in a month, equal removal and replacement of Sonos from our homes — Not worth the effort, nor time, nor frustration.” Reading through other reviews on Sonos’ Apps, it’s clear that we made a huge mistake trusting Sonos to deliver good products. We’ll eat our investment in their equipment and go back to using proven platforms that work when you want them to.

Alexa

Sonos is good, but when telling Alexa to play a playlist it doesn’t, unless I am missing something.

Fair to middling’

The speakers are good and the sound quite full when paired with subs but the whole thing is fairly unstable and often loses connectivity. When Sonos was new they bent over to assist and there was little else out there to provide music wirelessly. Now it is different and Sonos needs to step it up. My suggestion is find another wireless speaker system if you can.
