Speakers and app worked well several years ago, but Sonos has focused on things other than reliability and functionality. No longer able to play purchased music from Apple devices. Connections to speakers from the app lag and crash regularly. I completely regret spending thousands on these speakers.
I love my Sonos system! It gets me through my work day playing my favorite music. I highly recommend the system, it’s user friendly and quality sound.
Bought Sonos speakers in 2014: Playbar, Bridge, 3 Play:1s, and 1 Play:5. Absolutely fell in love immediately and was truly grateful for such reliable and incredible audio throughout the house. We use them every day. Picked up a One SL a few years ago and it has had a few issues with connectivity with our existing speakers but still great sound. My complaint is with all the newer Sonos products and the Sonos app updates—I’ve had problems with speakers randomly turning on and off for at least 2 years now and it’s pretty aggravating. I would’ve expected the Sonos team to have ironed out these bugs by now, but perhaps it’s intentional. There’s nothing wrong with my 8 year old speakers, so why is Sonos pushing me to upgrade to their newer models? I say pushing because of their campaign to get customers to return their older models and use them for a discount towards newer ones, even warning that the older system would not be supported going forward. ?? That’s such trash. I’m so disappointed. I agree with other reviewers that this is about corporate greed. Why else would a company stop supporting their fine, slightly older products and strongly recommend upgrading system components when it’s unnecessary??
I do not understand why I have to continue seeing the upgrade to S2 line on my app because I know I cannot upgrade because I have mixed components! I have spoken with the Sonos representatives on this and they don’t even understand what I am trying to say but why should I continually have to have this pop up when I know that I just want to keep S1 as it is. Very frustrating.
Arvin from tech support help me a d I can’t tell you how wonderful he was 5 starts
I never heard of Sonos before November. My family and I rented a brach house for thanksgiving and it had a full Sonos system installed. I’m a nut for technology so of course I had to add the same functionality in my home. After seeing the sticker prices for S2 equipment, I started to research S1. I have home theater speakers in various rooms in my house and love the idea of tying them into a centralized system to play music. I also loved the idea of tying in music speakers in various rooms in the house that don’t have TVs. I bough a few connect amps and connects, all S1, and have been amazed at the ease of set up and use. I am expanding the system to vertically every room in my house. The app is wonderful. Easy to set up and it’s reliable. I have most of my amps and connects hard wired which may be why it’s working so well. I have other brand receivers and built in speakers and they all sound great.
I bought these speakers Committed to them and several Then a shortly while after I can only play music that Sonos Allows. I can’t even play stuff from my phone Or iTunes. It’s absolutely ridiculous and that is not what I bought when I bought these I could at least play my phone and ITunes
It’s horrible that the new version of Sonos speakers to not work with the prior Sonos 1 version. Who ever decided that should be FIRED!
Irritating that it’s now forcing me to use the new Sonos app. There is literally no option to continue using this one.
