Thuggish Nuggets

Still garbage. Simple releases “fixes” to wipe out old ratings/reviews. So here I am again this week renewing my review for the latest “new version.” All these “fixes and tweaks” yet Face ID is still broken after years of it being buggy and having to force close the app. New UX was obviously designed to artificially reduce server requests per minute. The previous UX was just too good for users to be cost effective. Simple is cheaping out on their users instead of sticking with a good UX that works well. GO BACK TO TAB BAR NAVIGATION AND GET RID OF THIS HAMBURGER MENU BS! EDIT: Another edit to bring my review and rating current with another useless app update...

Don’t deposit Stimulus check

Deposited my stimulus check after reading good reviews, that was a BIG mistake! Simple choose to sit on it for 9 business day’s. I didn’t notice that I had to mail it to them but used the mobile app to deposit what is a US Treasury check. Needless to say I am broke and disappointed. You have been warned so unless you have cash to cover you for 2 weeks, don’t use Simple.

The user interface is awkward, clunky, and clearly glitchy. Moved money from my main bank to a savings account I was starting with Simple. They attempted to pull twice. Received an insufficient funds charge for $35 from my main bank. The issue was with Simple, but they kept me on hold for 20 minutes just to tell me they would not refund the charge. I immediately transferred the money back to my main bank, and closed Smple when the funds cleared. A 1.4% return on a savings account helps no one if they're going to overdraft your bank to do it. And not take responsibility for their mistake.

Used to be one of the best banks around. Bought by BBVA Compass, one of the most despised companies in my native Birmingham, AL. Everything this Spanish company touches turns to $hit€. This is an almost exclusively email-based “customer service” that has about a 48hr turnaround for EACH RESPONSE. Not then best when it comes to contacting your bank. It’s not usually a great situation when you’re having to contact your bank, and time is generally of the essence. I wouldn’t bother at all with this company. Absolute garbage-tier organisation.

I’m back after trying out a few other leading online banks. I’ve never had any real problems with Simple. They still have the absolute best notifications and seamless shared card experience out there and great perks like the high apy protected goals. I guess all I could really ask for right now is an updated interface. This one is starting to show it’s age and doesn’t even match their new cards in certain UI elements. Outside of that I’m very happy.

I’ve used Simple for over six years at this point, and always loved them. Support has always been great, and the way expenses and goals have helped me budget is super helpful.

I’ve had Simple since 2015. Back when it was beta and you had to be invited. Before they switch bank partners! Love seeing it grow and get better over time. It’s really help my stay on track. Would recommend.

You should really try out simple with shared checking accounts. It has totally changed my experience of banking.

I have been trying since last Friday to use simples horrendous camera to take a picture it keeps getting denied when the picture is perfect. It’s really frustrating me to no end every time I see it wasn’t clear that means I have to wait another day . This app shouldn’t be used if you need to pay bills can’t be trusted to work right. I will never use the cash deposit ever again, hell I will never use simple ever again because there is nothing simple about it.
