I have been using simple for about 4 years. I have never had any problems they really don’t have any fees all the benefit of a bank. with out any their problems this really is the future. I will never use another finical institution as long as I live they are really that good. any one who comes across this review and is wonder rather to sign up. or do it you won’t regret it thanks simple!


Hate the hamburger menu

Every time I try to swipe backwards, the hamburger menu gets in my face. It makes the app frustrating to use.

This has been a great bank. They now offer more features than they used to. And the money management features are phenomenal now. If you travel a lot. Or don’t like to go to the bank. Then this bank is for you.


They were good at first but then robbed me blind.

They were good at first but then robbed me blind. They took all my money and closed my account and would not disclose anything else. I am a law abiding US Citizen. This is total horse manuer! Don’t trust these people!!


Bring back tab bar

New UX was obviously designed to artificially reduce server requests per minute. The previous UX was just too good for users to be cost effective. Simple is cheaping out on their users instead of sticking with a good UX that works well. GO BACK TO TAB BAR NAVIGATION AND GET RID OF THIS HAMBURGER MENU BS!

I surprised some have said they have great customer service, I have found them very inconsistent. One support person will tell you one thing and the next time you get a response it is a different person saying the opposite. I really want to like them but they have not achieved the dream of modern mobile banking IMO they are nowhere near as good as Monzo in UK.

I see a lot of negative reviews on here and I’m honestly quite surprised. (I noticed while updating my app) This may be my only apple review ever btw, but I thought I’d give someone hope that this is a good company. I’ve been with Simple since my early 20’s living in Michigan. As with any online bank, I also had a local backup through Chase Bank. In 2015 I moved to North Carolina where they have the worst banks available, (no chase). I signed up for a local credit union for back up, but use Simple as my everyday bank. Each year they’ve gotten a little better. It used to take days to get a check to clear, now it happens overnight. (If you take a picture of it before 5pm) It has taught me to budget and save money. No fees and I can find a ATM pretty much anywhere. The only thing I struggle with is getting cash into my bank. I don’t do this often but instead of putting cash into a ATM, you have to use a money order and take a picture. Not a huge deal, but not the easiest. Me and my husband now have a shared account along our own accounts. I pay bills from our shared and leave our own accounts for everything else. I love that I can switch between accounts seamlessly and send money to each account in two seconds. (As well as to friends with Simple accounts) Best part, we used them to buy our first home! Simple overnighted a check to them (all $7,000 or so) to our closing lawyers. Not problem what so ever. No fees! If I’ve ever had a question I like the ability to text a message via the app. Never had a problem there either... I see some people don’t trust writing their account number on the back of their checks. I don’t love it, BUT I’ve seen other banks begin to do this as well. (It is so you don’t try to deposit a check into multiple online banks) Again, not the easiest but not a big deal. So in all, when someone asked me how I learned to budget or how I learned to save money period? I tell them about Simple. I honestly couldn’t imagine banking without them.


Disappointing UI Updates

I love Simple, but the update replacing the bottom navigation bar makes the app extremely frustrating to use.

Honestly simple is great and for there shortcomings this week I can’t blame them. COVID-19 is the issue and I’m glad to have been helped.

Whatever, it seems okay now ✅ Except in-app notifications... please allow us to dismiss in-app notifications or allow control of the ui while one is displayed. It’s very annoying to switch accounts, see a notification I switched accounts, then have to wait for it to go away before I can proceed
