Great user experience but still need some work

I’ve been using Simple as my primary bank for several years now and it’s been great. I’ve had no issues with cashing checks, moving money, etc. I really love that I can itemize and budget my expenses and goals every month so I can see how far ahead I am on my bills. The interface works great most of the time - I wish the transfer screens made logical choices instead of defaulting to always transferring money into my Safe to Spend, and the in-app alerts such as immediately after a transfer are slow and can’t be dismissed. Essentially, moving money in and out of expenses and goals quickly becomes tedious. Aside from some UX issues, it’s a great banking experience.

My account has been on hold for over two months now and I have a substantial amount of money in it I have been calling simple and every time I call they have no answers sometimes the customer care reps have attitudes I have even recorded one of my many calls with them as proof the bad service they offer. I have been asking to speak with a superior rep and they tell me their superior has the same amount of training so basically nobody has been able to help me. so my money is on hold no one helping in anyway I even asked for the address and number to their cooperate office and the rep hanged up on me. Anybody reading this please if you are thinking about signing up with this institution I’ll think twice. The pride themselves on being a good bank but from recent experience and in my honest opinion I would recommend this bank to anyone at the moment please make sure to look at other options so you are not disappointed in the end think you’ll be getting good services but basically your getting services from untrained professionals with no idea on how the bank system works and to add injury to insult they can’t even respond for the money in your account. Good luck and choose wisely when it come to where you choose to keep your fund.

Spend From... Notifications? Nope. Still broke. Proper tab interface? Nope. Still broke. Hamburger menu? Yep. Still there. Simple doesn’t care about its customer primary experience, how much do you think they will care about your account? Buyer beware.

I’m shocked to read any negative reviews! My wife and I moved to Simple after having Wells Fargo and having MANY overdraft fees and our banking feeling so out of control. Simple has been incredible for us. The financial picture is so much clearer. We have a shared account where all our money goes, and two individual accounts where we transfer our funds for our personal spending. It’s been so easy to budget that way. Any calls to customer service have been great and have never had any weird issues. Simple is great if you do not rely heavily on cash, we rarely use cash so it’s not a problem. Love Simple and I have total confidence in them!


Great bank awful app

I love banking with simple but this app is awful. I have been trying to deposit my check for a few nights but it just isn’t working. I already endorsed the check and wrote for simple banking and my number so I can’t go deposit it at another bank. I am only using the app to deposit checks and this app can not do it.


Horrible: Don’t Trust Them

2 months ago my account was closed with a 3 figure positive balance. Calling every week, messaging their support team, “escalating” the issue. They never returned my money. The account wasn’t closed on bad terms, or due to debt, or anything remotely bad. What a horrendous experience. Will update if I ever get my money back

Still garbage. Simple releases “fixes” to wipe out old ratings/reviews. So here I am again this week renewing my review for the latest “new version.” All these “fixes and tweaks” yet Face ID is still broken after years of it being buggy and having to force close the app. New UX was obviously designed to artificially reduce server requests per minute. The previous UX was just too good for users to be cost effective. Simple is cheaping out on their users instead of sticking with a good UX that works well. GO BACK TO TAB BAR NAVIGATION AND GET RID OF THIS HAMBURGER MENU BS!

The worst banking app ever . I tried to apply for an account because I needed something to keep my budget but get my application denied with no reason at all. I’ve never been rejected from a checking account before. What a joke

This app/bank was previously the best of the best. These days, the app freezes on launch, randomly logs me out, and generally feels less and less like a good citizen on iOS.
