Where’s the proper navigation?

Remember when Simple wasn’t a garbage fire? Bottom navigation still missing. Non functional, user-hostile hamburger menu still exists. Please get iOS developers and stop creating cross platform crap that’s always broken.

While I do like the simple app and it has great customer service (kept my rating at 2 stars), I constantly go back and forth between my iPhone and iPad, and I pay bills on both devices. The app isn’t optimized for iPads and it doesn’t rotate. Come on y’all! Please address this and I’ll gladly update my rating.

This is a great app and financial product, everything is always on time, the customer service is prompt and friendly and I really like the way the savings options are set up to save money without missing it! Everything is explained in detail so there’s no room for surprises! So if you’re thinking about trying online banking this is the bank to go with hands down!

When I try to scroll on the “savings goal” screen it stutters and goes back to the top, so I cannot reach the “transfer” button. It will still be nice if we could swipe to go to the previous menu. The hamburger menu is not as good as the previous menu we had at the bottom.

I have been using simple for 6 months now and have loved every minute of it!! It is so easy to track expenses without working up a whole spreadsheet budget. I also get great rates in my savings account. I work at a bank and we don’t even offer the rates that simple offers. It’s so great!!!


Stealing Money?

I had such high hopes for this online bank. My husband and I move around a lot for his job; so, we were hopeful that Simple would be the solution to our banking needs. They were great at first, until I started to notice money missing from our shared account. At first, it was $40 the first month. Ok, maybe I miscalculated something on my end, no biggie. The next month, however, there was another $40 missing!! So, I give them a call. The girl I get on the phone was nice enough. She wanted to go through my recent transactions (I had only started using this account in the past two months at the time). I had told her that I had already gone through all the transactions and that they were all there. The numbers on the transactions matched up with the records I had. It was the bottom dollar, or the “Safe-To-Spend”, numbers that weren’t matching up. We ended up going through the most recent month’s transactions together, and what do you know!! All the transactions match up! So why isn’t the bottom dollar matching? The girl can’t give me an answer and can’t give me any solutions beyond going through each and every transaction. I will not bank with a company that cannot explain where my money has gone to. She even tried to tell me it was in my Round-Up Transfer. Umm, no... It isn’t. There was barely $60 there, and I had already accounted for those transactions as well. So, I get all of our bills set back up with our old bank and switch back to my old bank. We have to wait for our tax reimbursements to come through Simple before we can close since we had already filed our taxes. Finally get the account closed and I find out about our stimulus checks are to be direct deposited into that account since that was what was on our taxes this year... Ugh, hopefully Simple doesn’t mess that one up either...


I very strongly dislike the new UX of the app

I really miss the bottom navigation of the old app design. As a UX designer myself, it drives me CRAZY that what used to be one tap away (simple living up to its name), is now multiple taps away. I understand there’s more features being added to the app, but this was not the best solution. The app used to be. Well. Simple! Now it’s more complicated than ever.
