Needs some work!

ACA4484

This app needs some help. Not worth the $9.99 fee. A lot of times when we would text or call our friends on the ship, it wouldn’t go through right away and then all of your messages would pile up and come in at once. Kind of defeats the purpose! Won’t be buying it again on our next cruise.

Don’t waste your money for the messenger

Our party of 4 had this app and paid the $10 each for onboard messaging. The messaging doesn’t support proper push notifications so the phone has to be unlocked with the app open in order to receive a message. Even then you typically wouldn’t get the messages for hours. The free portion of the app which provided the daily itinerary and on-board ship charges was OK. On three different occasions, the itinerary portion failed as well. Unfortunately it did not show critical information such as port arrival and departure times. In summary, if you want a mobile app to see basic daily ship itinerary, then get this. I highly recommend avoiding the messaging add-on and simply have a game plan in place for where to meet in the event you get separated. To NCL, here are my recommendations for improvement: 1) Make the messaging portion use proper push notification so the phone can be asleep and the app running in the background. 2) make the system sync to ship time. The clock for messages was off by a good 5 minutes. 3) Include important port details such as: *arrival time *all-aboard time *departure time *tender details if applicable 4) After implementing the above, do not charge for the messaging features until you have ironed out the kinks. You need as much feedback as possible and you are limiting your user base by charging for what should really be an included feature anyway. By charging for a subpar product, you are also alienating people from possibly even using your cruise line entirely. Is that worth $10?

Don’t waste your money

Absolutely worthless app, no map of the ship, doesn’t tell you when you when you get a message unless you already have the app open, phone calls sounded like crap if they worked at all... easier to just use the ship phones... doesn’t show you menu’s from the restaurants or tell you the times they are open. Just don’t bother at all! Waste of $10

USELESS

Morethanticked

Horrible app. Limited service. Messages delivered/received by recipient HOURS later!!!

Perfect app for large groups

Rylan Marie 08

Had a group of 12 and kept us in contact 999% of the time. Can Call from state room to phone as well. Would spend the 14.99 again in a heart beat.

Onboard USE ONLY

Pita X

On the ship only it works

Garbage app. Norwegian, you need to put a developer on this.

Ehw555

Downloaded to use the messenger app onboard. App Constantly disconnects from Ship network, and only receives message if open. Notifications never come through unless app is open. Garbage app. Norwegian, it’s 2018 - you need to put a developer on this outdated and poorly functioning app.

Worse than useless

Blue whale man

Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY THE $10 for the useless texting service. We were a party of 4. Hence, $40 down the drain. Besides that, the app crashes all the time, often will not display any of the day’s activities, does not reveal opening and closing times of restaurants, and so on.

Horrible!

ANGIE1015

$9.99 for what exactly!!!??? You can’t even get in touch with anyone! I had a group of 9 people with me, we all paid for the app. We couldn’t even get in touch on the ship. Horrible service! Oh and the best thing you have to have the app open in order to receive messages or calls and half of the time you don’t even get messages h til the next day! Don’t waste your money people! Shame on this app developer and Nowerigian to agree on this useless and money hungry app! Needs IMPROVEMENT

Do not use

Chris from NC

Just docked back from a cruise. App does not work and they admit that on the ship. They tell you to disable and reenable Wi-Fi constantly so the app can connect again. Absolutely useless. DO NOT depend on this to stay in touch with your family.
