The app stalls

When opening the app, sometimes it takes a long time to connect to the openers, and other times the progress wheel just keeps spinning for a prolonged time before the user is allowed to activate the opener

LiftMaster - Stick to making better than average garage door openers. Public Consumer - App is a 1 at best. Never stays connected, errors say can’t connect to the server, or can not locate server. Or better yet, the app freezes and shuts down. Constantly deleting and reloading the app. Better off just using a wireless remote included with the opener or getting one of the exterior mount keypads. App is garbage.
App won’t even open up

This app has been working great until now. The message I get is the network connection is lost. Our network is fine.
A flaw to address

When it connects to the remote server, it works well. Unfortunately, too often I arrive to the outside of my garage and see a failure to connect. Recent server outage (6/7/18) confirmed that the app connects to a far away server to send a command to the door opener. It would make sense for the app to use the existing WiFi connection to open the door when the phone is within the range of the network; most people usually have a decent signal just outside of their garages... This would keep the app working, even if the remote server was out as it happened today.
