This is a data grab. App deleted and negative star rating is justified. Look at the other reviews. Look at how you are alienating customers, Lionsgate. Do a better job. Get rid of your terrible app and just align with an existing tool (like Movies Anywhere, Apple TV, etc.) WITHOUT an app.
More than worthless ... it’ll cost you money!

I’ve built a collection of movies over the years and honestly like the idea on not needing to enter the redemption codes. But this app is both a commercial assault “requiring” its use, but the redemption process is so sensitive, don’t expect to get to actually make any choices. My first any only movie (ever) redeemed using this went to the wrong service. I’m waiting for a response from the service about moving it but don’t expect a positive outcome. UPDATE: Not only did I get a negative response but I got the exact same wording trying to follow up. “The redemption code included with your purchase is valid for redemption into one service or account...Once your selection is made, and confirmed you will be redirected to the website to complete your transfer. Once a choice had been made, we are unable to reset codes or transfer to another retailer”. Once the hologram finally scanned I did NOT get to make a selection... there was NO confirmation... and I was NOT redirected to the retailer to complete the transfer. They act like this is a freebie and that you don’t pay for the privilege of having a digital copy. I am avoiding buying anything Lionsgate and will NEVER use this app again! I have never paid for something, not gotten it and accepted their customer service not providing some alternative.

I tried to redeem my code on my Mac at first, but the instructions to do that failed. So I downloaded this app which seems to exist solely to harvest my user name AND try to get location data for no good reason and it couldn’t even read the code that way because the hologram kept failing. What ever happened to good old fashioned iTunes codes? Or even movies anywhere codes? The website FORCES you to opt in to emails to even try to redeem, I’m sure the app does too. This behavior should be frankly be illegal. You’re better off returning the disc if you were fortunate enough to get it from a retailer that is forgiving and buy the movie directly on iTunes, or better yet, rent to get your John Wick fix and give up on purchasing Lionsgate movies entirely (which will be my strategy going forward).

I’ve never had a harder & more tedious time trying to redeem a digital movie code. Took at least 35 minutes. App kept returning a “Can’t Read Code” message so I had to keep hitting the retry button. Even tried redeeming the code by manually entering it & it kept “Not Recognizing” the code which forced me to have to use the app. I shouldn’t have to download an app and agree to a TON of legal terms for using the app just to get my legally purchased digital copy of my movie! Not happy with Lionsgate.

F@*k Lionsgate and it’s $hotty movies! This app is designed to data mine your entire life and slow your phone to a crawl. I DL’d just to write a review. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT OPEN THIS APP! IT IS 100% SPAM SPAM SPAM. Read the “privacy policy”- by clicking and opening, just to DL a movie you already paid for, you agree to allow them to track you and establish your pattern and schedule of your whereabouts, your buying, your email reading, basically All Your privacy. They further explain that they will share(sell) your information to 3rd parties for marketing purposes and you cannot DL the movie you paid for without agreeing to allow them to do so. Their “privacy policy” is that you have no privacy. This app borders on illegal and violates your rights as a human being. There’s absolute grounds for a class action lawsuit for violation of civil liberties in exchange for something you already paid for, but never agreed to before the exchange. DO WHAT I DID- WATCH THE DVD, AND RETURN THAT CRAP BACK TO TARGET OR WALMART AND GET A REFUND.

The app is not user friendly. I had to try scanning the hologram code like 21 times in 2 different places under various lighting to get to accept. I may reconsider buying Lionsgate movies if this is how to get a digital copy that I pay for. Note that this is all the work done just to get a different code to be entered at Apple TV, vudu, or Googleplay to redeem the movie.

From an end consumer standpoint this is a crappy method to redeem the code for the digital copy. Pain in the A to use and provides no way to opt out of providing email and agreeing to their terms. Who knows what other info they gather without your knowledge.

Why Lionsgate? Why force us to get this stupid, useless app after we’ve already forked out our money to you. I won’t be buying anymore Lionsgate digital media as I don’t want to download this crap heap every time I need it, and it certainly won’t stay on my phone. Goodbye Lionsgate.
