Groovin' to the beat
Between a terrible app, backup codes that don’t work on their own website, and requiring that you “opt in” to their marketing emails, Lionsgate has shown they have no respect for their consumers. This is putting aside their refusal to participate in the Movies Anywhere service. I will avoid purchasing their movie releases in the future.

What a crappy way of getting people to DL the app. Forcing people into it. If I hadn’t already opened this movie I would take it back. This is trash

Useless app that serves no purpose other than to collect your private info so they can sell it for cash they don’t deserve.

I tried my John Wick Chapter 3 code today (January 2, 2020) by scanning the QR code on the sheet inside the case and it worked flawlessly, taking me to my Vudu sign-in and then adding the movie to my library. This is for all those who it has bugged out on in the past!

The existence of this app is a blatant, thoughtless, and malicious attempt to mine consumer data. It creates an unneeded barrier between audiences and movies, forcing you to download a third party app, agree to a novella of fine print, and surrender your email before getting access to the movie that you purchased. If that wasn’t enough, the functionality of app itself is garbage; taking multiple attempts to read the QR and hologram codes. And after all that, it just kicks you back to iTunes to get the movie. Like... Lionsgate. Just let people scan their codes in iTunes! Live with the fact that you’re not going to snarf up every user’s email. They will actually appreciate you more for not having to sift through your deluge of spam. And for the love of everything holy... join movies anywhere! People like your movies and want to be able to watch them. I mean, you make movies where Keanu Reeves fights assassins with a horse! That’s amazing! But making people jump through hoops to see that amazingness is just going to create bad vibes for everyone involved. With apps like this, you’re hindering yourself from reaching the audience that supports you the most.

The app just scans codes to change a QR code into a letter code. Ultimately, it then crashed as I tried to send the code to iTunes for completion, so I still had to type that code in manually. App asks for your location information when it should not need it. I live on planet earth, and that’s all you need to know.

How obnoxious is Lionsgate that they make you download their app in order to redeem digital copies that come with purchased movies? I’m downloading this app to redeem the code and then deleting it immediately.
