I don’t feel like a VIP

Please fire the person who decided to require an app to redeem a digital copy. This is a terrible decision. The paper clearly states that I can still go to the website. However, the website says the code is not valid and I must use the website. I can understand providing the option to use an app. I do not believe the app should be required. Redeeming a digital copy from Lionsgate is a once in a while thing thus does not require an app as hoping a website once in a while is very easy. To add insult to it, the app does not work well. It took 5 tries (it times out) to get the app to read the hologram. It isn’t surprising since this is the same company whose blue rays freeze and can’t play if the blue ray player isn’t connected to the internet. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Immediately removed from phone after getting my digital copy.

Literally the dumbest app ever. You download the app, so they can access your info for spam and crap, just to be redirected to all the other digital cloud websites, like Vudu, in order to access the digital copy. Deleted the app after downloading. Pointless.

Way too complicated for redeeming a code

Redeeming a code shouldn’t be this hard and this many steps. I don’t feel that this app has made my redeeming process safer or easier.

It doesn’t work. After years of failing codes and apps it’s obvious the companies owning these films simply want to advertise that they are selling you a digital copy, without doing it. With Apple I have had success first time every time over many years, never a problem. Every other system or company never works. If I valued my time at minimum wage I would have earned many times the value of the product. This is fraud clear and simple. If Hollywood was treated like every other company in America it would be fined out of existence by now. Update: two weeks since sending help request. Did NOT even get the customary robot response.

I say we start a class action lawsuit against LIONSGATE for not telling us in advance that to get the digital copy, we have to give them access to our personal information. This is just wrong. To pull this on John Wick, I think Mr. Wick should pay them a visit. Just saying...

Ymmv, but I did not have to enable location tracking for the code to scan, fortunately. If you use Gmail, put a plus sign after your username followed by "lionsgate" or something that will let you easily filter out whatever garbage they send you. If they're going to insist on going through this garbage app, bear in mind there are other ways to obtain a digital copy. What an utterly ill-conceived example of customer alienation.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. This app is stupid and not needed. Just give me a code like everyone else does. This will be the last Lionsgate movie that I buy.

Now they want us to take photos of QR code’s for purchased movies on their own bad app that doesn’t even have an iPad version in 2020. Lionsgate just continues to disappoint on all fronts. Their movies are mediocre at best and they do not want to be consumer friendly towards their own long terms customers. It’s 2020 and they gave me an iPhone app for my iPad to just add an unnecessary step to claiming my movie so they could get info. Did I mention you can’t opt out of receiving emails when you redeem movie? Going forward I still reconsider buying any Lionsgate films. These moves will directly result in me buying fewer or none from this studio.
