Absolutely terrible product not well though out or designed at all. Seemed like a great idea so i bought 3 of them for my outside LED lights. Installed them and all seemed well except one set of LED lights was strobe lighting so i tried installing the bulb adapter as it says, reset the type of bulb and same thing, tried selecting every type of bulb and no change. Then my front porch switch turned red indicating it lost WIFI, tried factory reset and now it wont even show up when i try to connect to it. The next thing is the app is horrible, it has automation for sunrise and sunset but it just turns the lights on at both times, when trying to pick a custom time it doesnt ask if you want them on or off at that time it just automatically turns them on at whichever times you pick, now why the H*** would someone want to turn their lights on at sunset and then also turn them on at sunrise. Tried deleting the automation and it kept saying error and wouldnt delete, turned it off and they still turn on at dusk and turn on again at dawn even though i turned it off. Last thing is the switch, it has a ring that glows white all the time. There is no indication of a color change or any way to make it indicate on or off so you dont know without physically looking at the lights themselves. The whole product could be great but it was definitely a “rush job” that was not at all thought out just to get a smart switch out on the market. Would have expected better by a company like GE. Guess im returning them and waiting til Nest comes out with a smart switch since they at least care about their products.


App takes personal info about your phone/software usage

The bulbs work fine although you have to have Bluetooth enabled even if you’re using a non Bluetooth device. Secondly, the terms of use state that GE will be monitoring your use of the app, that of course is expected but it also says that they monitor technical aspects of your device, the apps on your device and peripherals and how you use your phone, apps and peripherals. Really GE? You need to monitor my device and app usage so that I can use a friggin lightbulb? Shame on you. Always at least read the parts of the terms of service that relate to data usage. Will be returning these bulbs of course


Couldn’t Get Far

After downloading the C by GE app on my iPhone, each time I tried to set up an account it said that it was unable to create an account. I tried deleting and re-downloading the app, but got the same message. Now I have a $15 light bulb that gives off yellow light and nothing else. Should have checked the reviews before purchasing I guess...

HomeKit does not support temperature changes

I have C by GE full color bulbs. The CCT function works perfectly on GE's app. I bought their Reach product to bridge it in to my HomeKit set up. In the Home app, the CCT does not work correctly for the C by GE bulbs. The "morning" whites have a blueish green, and the evening hues have too much orange red.


Quite possibly the worst running app I’ve ever used

I have been trying to scroll through the TOS for 30 minutes, but I can’t get more then 1/2 way down the page without there being framedrop, on a TOS! It also takes a insane amount of time to load and when it does work, it refuses to pair to my lightbulb.

Can’t create an account

I’ve been trying to creat an account to set up my new smart plugs. But you can’t add a password. It doesn’t pull up a keyboard when you try. I’ve tried on multiple devices and am stuck with an expensive smart plug that I can not use. It works fine as a regular outlet but not worth the extra money I spent.
