You’ve Never Budgeted Like This Before
YNAB is unlike any personal finance app, expense tracker, or money management system you’ve tried before—because it works. The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live.

A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules
Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it.

Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job.

Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable.

Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. When your money is at least a month old, you’ll have finally broken the paycheck to paycheck cycle for good.

Could not even get started

Could not link my account because it uses 2fa. 2fa is a critical security need and the fact that it does not allow me to use it is a huge deal breaker.

MANY Connection issues
Ryan 686

For a company that’s main function is connecting to your bank so that you can budget efficiently, they do a poor job. There seems to always be a connection issue with one of my banks. Now my main bank account is effected. I asked when it will be resolved and they expect it to take weeks!! You would think since they are an Expensive subscription based company that they would at the very least extend coverage or reimburse for the outage time, but they said these outages are to be EXPECTED. I can understand a day or two, but WEEKS?!? That’s ridiculous. I like the concept, hence the 2 stars, but paying an expensive subscription for a company that can’t deliver its main function and then won’t back it with customer service is ridiculous. Try Mint or another competitor.

Best budgeting app you can find
sheilalovesshad

I have been using YNAB for over 2 years after several years with other budgeting apps. This is the best, most user friendly service you will find. It has everything you want a budgeting app to have. Over the course of two years it has gotten better and easier through improvements made by YNAB. They are always responding to user feedback with improved features. I honestly love it. The free interactive webinars teach you everything you need to be able to make the most of YNAB. We have saved so much money and energy and we know where every single cent we spend goes. I can’t recommend it enough!

A budget that actually works
Rionoir

I’ve tried budget apps so many times and this is the first one to ever make it really easy to make a budget and stick to it. When you are allocating ACTUAL dollars instead of arbitrarily selected numbers, you can actually visualize how each purchase affects your bottom line. I don’t love the spreadsheet look of it, but it works great. Also imports all my investment accounts and lets me budget allocations to my retirement.

Confusing
Sweetamanda2241

I’m old school and usually write my budget on paper so I thought I would try this app. It is very confusing to navigate. Certain bills get paid on certain paychecks but it makes it seem like I’m in the negative till my next check comes in. Not worth the money.

Gamification of budgeting
JennOzTX

I love this app! I’ve been searching for a really good budgeting tool and this hits the mark. It seems fun to me, almost like a fun money game. I feel more positive about my money situation using this app! That alone is worth it.

Best Budging Software
Johnthunder

The app is great. It has almost all the features of the web app. It’s just missing the reconciliation feature.

Was great, but bank sync is broken
Djjamminjason

I wanted to like this. Overall great app, but it’s main attraction for me was to have it be in-sync with your bank transactions. This feature is broken and they can’t provide estimate on when it will be fixed.

Not a fan of the quick budget menu redesign
YourGhostInMyMachine

Wish you hadn’t changed the design of the quick budget menu. Now I have to scroll to see all of the options. That’s all.

This app is great only if you like being confused. Very little support once you download it and nothing helpful on YouTube either. I’m canceling my subscription!
