I really want to like this

I have been trying for days to import my accounts and the service is never available. My free month will be over by the time I even start to use it.

Average.....

YNAB does exactly what it says and it is extremely helpful. It has helped our family secure a solid budget. However, it is average because it has issues. Even when banking with a major institution, expenses never “sync” with YNAB in a timely fashion. If you use your check card over the weekend, sometimes those charges will not “sync” with YNAB until the following Wednesday. This is an inconvenience at the beginning of the month when trying to finalize last month’s expenses. The other issue is customer support. There is no 1-888 to discuss issues or trouble shoot. YNAB staff does reply quickly with messages however some of the answers are not clear. I will definitely so continue using the product just hope YNAB resolves these major issues soon.

Best app I have ever used!

Teripzzzz

This app has changed our lives! We look at and handle money differently! No more feeling sick about whether we have the money to pay for something! We feel so much more in control of our money by learning the YNAB way. It’s awesome! And very worth the money!

Love the app but has one flaw

Lulumd79

I absolutely love this app and use it in a daily basis and it definitely keeps me on track with my money. My only fuss is that where is no "undo" button on the mobile app.

Not user friendly

This app is not user friendly. It doesn’t allow you to easily and simply track your expenses. Not worth the ridiculous fee.

Best Budgeting App Out There

Kobusaf

Let me start by saying that YNAB is the best budgeting app out there, and I’ve tried pretty much all of them. That being said, it’s not perfect, and I find it lacking some key components. Chief among them is the ability to see planned income VS scheduled expenditures. Maybe I’m wrong, but there’s no easy way to see how much money I expect to earn in a given month, compared to scheduled bills for the month. I get paid weekly, and that amount varies based on overtime, so what I end up doing is planning week by week, but I have no way of knowing if I’m meeting my obligations for the month without constant review of scheduled transactions. If I look through the budget, all underfunded categories appear in yellow, but there’s no hard and fast method to see all bills for the month compared to what I expect to earn for the month, in order to see how much discretionary spending I can afford for the month. Otherwise, the methodology behind YNAB is fantastic and is laser focused on budgeting. If you struggle with your personal finances, You Need A Budget!

This has been a game changer for me.

Useless with proper bank connections

The idea seems good but I’m glad I did not pay for the subscription. In the age of 2FA being enabled in all banks for security, this application should be handling that way better than any other free apps out there (see Mint). I would consider using and paying for it if I didn’t have to enter my credentials every time I tried to refresh my accounts (or every time I opened the app). I will not be using this or recommending this to anyone who is interested in keeping their bank accounts secure.

Just downloaded and already broken.

MIKEY SAVES EL DAY

Just downloaded the app, excited to get started on my budget. Only problem...the app freezes when I create my account and it can’t get past that screen. Sooooo bummer.
