Horrible

App doesn’t keep up with my bank or posted transactions. Waste of money and time trying to figure out how the app works. Takes too long to figure out my budget and I’m a financial professional.

Waste of money, Mint is more useful

Bsmith100

I stopped using YNAB because: 1. My bank supports creation of saving goals. 2. Mint is better at account importation and categorization 3. Mint allows for decent budgeting 4. Mint is free The idea is definitely great, but the execution is lacking. Account importation is a joke in comparison to that of Mint’s. Mint automatically adjusts for credit card payments far better than YNAB could, and can automatically categorize transactions. YNAB does not show pending transactions, so your budgeting barely operates in real time since transactions usually take days to go through. It also fails to connect to my credit cards half of the time saying the credit card is experiencing ‘delays’ while Mint is able to update just fine. YNAB’s one advantage is the ability to ‘give every dollar a job’ through your manual allocation of money. But this is hardly an advantage over Mint’s automatic categorization of your spending which is done pretty much in real time. YNAB does have the better UI, but unless they can fix the capabilities of their platform I won’t be switching back any time soon.

On A Savings Roll!

I’ve just started a higher paying job and need to start saving up for a major surgery, so I figured I would give this app a try after hearing from a couple people that they really liked it. I’ve only had it for almost a month and I’m already seeing great results! With the help of this app, I’m projected to save almost enough for my surgery by the New Year! While my bank (TD) currently won’t connect to this app, I find that putting in my paychecks as ‘accounts’ have been working just as well as I could’ve hoped! It’s definitely been able to help me visualize what I’m able to spend (something I’ve really struggled with for the past six years). The staff also are extremely accommodating if you reach out to them with any problems! I’m exceptionally happy with YNAB and would recommend it to just about anyone who needs help budgeting!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! This is a scam!

Cooper1516

Do not download this app. They sign you up for the year subscription without saying anything and then charge your account $90 without ever consulting with you except in the fine print. On top of that, it’s cluttered and difficult to navigate. Go use the app Mint for free if you want to budget. This app is a total scam!!!!!

Subscription cancelled already

butts505

Downloaded this like ten minutes ago, already cancelled my subscription because: 1) Synced bank accounts, balances are not correct. 2) No feature to plan cash flow based on pay period and days that bills are due.

A must for those who budget

Lilibirds

Giving every dollar a job is the best way to budget in my opinion. When the money comes in, you tell it where to go! I love the updated app and I use YNAB on the computer also. Helps get us more focused on what we spend our money on (ie we eat out way too much!) The YNAB system takes a bit to get used to, but once I watched a few videos I got the hang of it.

Scam

This is only a free trial. Once you make your account and start the trial they tell you they will start charging you through your Apple ID account. The only way to edit your subscription or delete your account is to loving through a desktop which is really stupid and frustrating. It’s a scam.

Worth every penny

The subscription to YNAB (which includes both the app and desktop version) is worth every penny we budget for it! We've used YNAB for almost two years now. The app is a game-changer - you can be at the grocery store and quickly see how much money is available for groceries. It's also helped us with our savings goals. Definitely great for couples/partners who share money, as it keeps us on the same page and making financial decisions together.

No more financial curveballs

tnix43

I love this app! Love the look. Love the user interface. Love the concept. I can finally save and plan for those reoccurring charges that “randomly” show up every month. I used to have a budget of $350 set aside just to cover life’s random charges every month. Now that I can plan to save for them, that budget has dropped from $350 to $100! I now know exactly where that $250/month is going because I plan for it which basically means that Life doesn’t throw me as many financial curveballs. I finally feel like my family’s budget is no longer “in the dark” all thanks to YNAB.

Love it!

How was I living without YNAB?? YNAB has helped me learn to tell my money where to go rather than my money tell me where to go! I cant imagine my life without it. My 17 year old son started working and I made him set up a YNAB account so he can learn money management. Thanks YNAB!!!
