Used to be Really Good, But Turned Into Junk

Liked this so much that I got the paid version years ago. Since then they dropped the paid version and reverted to ads. Bad enough, but recently the ads cannot be shut down even after waiting through their blaring, childish blast of sound. The only way to shut the ads off is the force the app to close then reopen the app, letting more ads play again, until they finally quit. Often it takes several forced closes before I can get the next set of letters. Looking for a better word game, sad, especially after having paid for ad free. Compare the above to my prior review below. It's a challenging and entertaining way to pass time, and a bit addicting as well, but really good at exercising those synaptic memories and channels. Only con is failure to include many modern American English words and conversely to use too many archaic words never used.

I’ve had this game for years, and I paid for it back in the day. I know ads generate revenue, but when the ads keep me from being able to play, what’s the point for the user. Too many ads get stuck, clicking the X takes you to the download, and the ads take forever. I’ll be deleting this soon if the user experience is not improved. I’d rather pay for games then be advertised to death!

Tried playing today. An advertisement came up, which I understand. However, the ONLY way to click out of the ad is to install the game that’s being advertised. Don’t want the game so now I can’t play this one anymore. I’ll miss this game but I’m sure there are others similar. This has happened with a lot of the ads lately. All it does is make people want to avoid and stay away. If this is a way to get someone to purchase the game, it’s not right.

Fix this app! When game ends after a round it’s virtually impossible to get to the next round without opening the ad that takes over my screen. Then some bug is causing the radio or anything I’m listening to in the background to turn off. Even when I reopen the news/radio app back on and then click to play the next round of the game, it turns off the sound again!

I’ve played this game for years, but I’m ready to delete it due to the long ads. Before you can even play one game, you have to watch a long ad that has to run to completion sometimes 1-2 minutes. Then another ad after before you can play again. You spend half your time on ads. The game itself is fun, well designed, but all the ads have ruined it for me.

But I cannot deal with an ad after each round. Over a year ago I wrote the developers asking for an upgrade that would allow users to subscribe to an ad free game. I was told they were working on it. I had not played this game since. I decided to try again and nothing has changed. I’m uninstalling the app and will stay with Pangram and the millions of other apps to choose from.

I get the ads.. but when the ap makes it impossible to get out of the ad.. 10 minutes later you are still looking at the ad. This is the last word game I will delete. Will never subscribe to any of them after this.
