I upgraded to a refundable and changeable ticket because I knew I may need to make a change. When I did make the change United didn’t honor the upgrade and instead charged both a change fee and fare difference. A hard reminder of why I avoid United. Won’t make the mistake again.
Companion’s complimentary Upgrade

I learned great deal from our most recent flight IAD-LAX-IAD. At the same time, I was in great confusion on United’s complimentary companion upgrade policy/rules. From the beginning, we did not want to be separated with two different reservation number but the “system” did when we were upgraded on IAD-LAX flight. On return flight back, LAX-IAD. , I received upgrade 4 days in advance while my wife’s upgrade came 30 minutes prior to boarding which put us at unease. This “separation anxiety” is terrible feeling to have when traveling and waiting for it to clear. I realize we can use PlusPoints to accommodate but even without it, shouldn’t higher Tier prevail upgrade priority? We were confused at best. Crappy Credit Card Interface

Had to type in all credit card information twice for return flight. Once to save to app and then a second time to purchase luggage charge. Credit card info did not save in app for current trip. I had to type in credit card information multiple times for departure flight also. App also did not work in flight for Wi-Fi access or in flight purchases.

Your app is a disaster. It barely works except for data like flight info. You should stop claiming it does anything else until you can improve it
