Works sometimes, doesn’t work sometimes.

When it works, it works well. But often times it doesn’t work. I use this lock for a vacation rental and I have a tough firm making new codes. I get a lot of error messages. “Error - could not save.” I have to keep restarting the app and trying again. Sometimes it takes several times of re-doing it before it works. It’s really annoying. I have come to dread adding a new code.

I consistently have problems connecting remotely to two of my four locks. It’s hit or miss with the other two. I’ve had schlage locks for over two years and you can’t depend on the app.

Overall fantastic, except the firmware update / troubleshooting adding that WiFi adapter

Love the app. Easy to use and intuitive. However, I updated the firmware and the app no longer could talk to the lock. I ended up doing a factory reset in order to get everything working again. Update: go the WiFi adapter so that I can lock/unlock/change user codes while away from the home. Using the app, you can add it to your system. But no, ran into multiple issues, found a solution online that required “flipping” the code on the back of the device, rather than scanning in with the app, put it in manually and change every character. If upper case, make lower case. If lower case, make upper case. Also, the adapter would not put out its personal network for me to find on my phone till I held the button in for 10 seconds. (That was trial and error, couldn’t find that solution online).

I have had a Schlage electronic dead bolt on my front door for over 2 years now. It has operated flawlessly and remotely from my i-phone application without failing once. This is essential for me cause I am totally bed-bound at the moment recovering from a serious auto accident. Also since it is battery controlled, when there is a brown out or black out the operation of my door is unaffected. Finally, when being transported from the house for a doctor’s visit or for PT Therapy,, the application immediately reconnects to my Wi Fi when returning home outside of the home without fail. The batteries last for months without needing changing. I recommend it highly for anyone needing help in unlocking and answering the door.

It’s a great app I just think it can use a few upgrades and be even better it has everything you need but just isn’t at its best.

Easy to install... all work brilliantly from my smart phone. Provides peace of mind while away and construction personnel access with my knowledge only. Way to go Schlage!
