Adding food

Fangs84

This is honestly a great application but it could be even better if it allowed you to add food instead of having to scan using a barcode (which is a wonderful feature) but not being able to add food ourselves is limiting to this app. The food database would be expanded so much quicker if the user could input.

Don’t understand

IStill am having trouble understanding how to use app

Like the idea, but...

It doesn’t work well. The app crashes, does not accept changes and sometimes communicates well with their own glucose meter. Additionally, several of the food descriptions get cut off and there is no way to see the entire description. My fitness Pal works better for monitoring food intake.

A Mobile-centric Force Quit Routine

Great information in app. Great coaching and that’s a big help. And I mean the help is very, very good for newbs at least. Better than doc offices and the 1 hour I get with them every three months. But the whole allure to me was the automatic recording of blood glucose measurements. I get my meter and supplies covered 100% by insurance otherwise but this time saver was worth paying for to me. And that function just isn’t reliable for me. In 5 Days it has only automatically recorded in the app twice. Usually I have to force quit app and restart. Then it reads right away. I opened a case for help but they sent the same beginner nonsense posted on their site and what I said I had already checked in my initial request for help. Bluetooth paired, Chrome within 10 feet of phone (actually more like 2 ft). App running. Updated app and iOS. No go for me. I’m not sure the help ship is piloted by a human. Seems to be an auto response or definitely at least a lack of reading my short request. Also this company is very mobile centric. Can’t use a computer to check in and and that annoys me when I am, I guess, an oddity today that prefers a big screen I can read easily. : ) But mobile is the way of things. The trend whether we like it or not. Still, I want this to work and will stick around because the help is just that good.

Great app

I’m new to diabetes and One Drop, but I have found the equipment and app to be very easy to use and navigate. I love the subscription based supplies and the fact it’s all organized into one app. However, the only thing I would change is that my type of diabetes isn’t listed as a choice. I have Type 3C. I wish they would list that as an option.

Please improve Bluetooth

I love the app. I use it six times a day and I’m a One Drop member with unlimited strips. But the Bluetooth still never works unless I hold down the power button while One Drop is open on my iPhone X and force it to upload several readings at one time. Other than that it’s brilliant but I would be nice if the meter and phone worked together like they should without forcing the issue. I’ll continue to use it because I love it, I just wish that was better.

Awesome

Really great app ! It helps you keep track of everything! I’m new to all the diabetic things so it’s made it easy for me to keep track of it all!

Great management tool

I have used the app for more than a year and it’s great. The only fault the food library is not complete and you can’t add on.

Snyc Inconsistent, App Not Intuitive, Case Is A Nuisance

Meter looks great, but everything is cheap plastic. It doesn’t keep its Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 8. I have to re-pair it every three or four days. There is no way to know if it will connect or not until you’ve pricked your finger and put your blood on the test strip. Only then do you discover if it’s going to connect this time or not. I thought the case was impractical from the pictures, but I was willing to give it a try. It’s bulky and the meter and strips and lancet sometimes slip out and roll around in my briefcase when I travel around town and around the country. There is also no place to carry lancets or alcohol strips in it, which makes it even more impractical. It all looks good, but the cheap plastic, bulky and very impractical case, and an unintuitive app demonstrates that looks and form in both the meter and app have taken priority over function and ease of use. The app looks good, but is unintuitive. This morning I had to take my meds early and I couldn’t find any way to log that I took them early. I had to wait for the notification prompt at the scheduled time to log taking my meds. In addition, the social function is creepy. I don’t want to see faces of strangers in my app along with their test results and other info. It’s very creepy, and doesn’t inspire me. There is no way to turn it off either. Very creepy. In addition, my first shipment of test strips didn’t instill confidence. When I opened the shipping packaging the box containing the test strips was already wide open and unsealed. I didn’t have confidence that the strips were untampered with or that they were uncontaminated. To their credit One Drop sent me replacement test strips free of charge. I’m glad I only paid $10 for the meter and the whole start-up kit. I wanted to like this a lot, but it has too many frustrations for me to highly recommend it in its current stage of development. If One Drop continues to develop its products and deals with these problems, then this has potential to be a good product and system.

Good in some ways

Combination of good and not so good. I set up a med schedule including dose but I still have to enter the info. Should be able to just click a button that says Done Like having a meter that talks to phone and the app does share well with the Apple Health. Lancing device is a piece of junk and the carrier is ridiculous as it can’t carry lancets. Lancets not included in subscription which seems nuts but I guess since I don’t like the Lansing device I’m glad I don’t have to pay for lancets for it.
