Taking forever with W-9 form requirement

I would not recommend this selling platform as of 2022, the support teams or whoever is taking care of the reviews of my tax information is not contacting me back after countless attempts to get in contact with them. I am simply trying to expedite the time it is taking. It’s been around a month now since I began the process back in December 17 of 2021. Please Amercari get your stuff together!

Sellers please be aware of this app. It really does have potential to be a great app, but they will take your money. They also do not protect the seller so please protect yourself. I had someone buy a set from me. I shipped within 48 hours, but unfortunately Fedex took over two weeks to deliver. I messaged the buyer and kept checking in with them. After the product was delivered the buyer requested a return because it was a Christmas present and it had arrived after Christmas. Once I received the package back, I was missing an item. I tried and tired to get Mercari to understand I had not received all of my merchandise back. After many days of messaging back and forth and sending pictures. They informed me the buyer states they did not receive the item. When I sent the item it was in a wooden box packaged inside of a cardboard box. Everything was there, now I have an item I can not do anything with. Also make sure your weights are accurate down to the ounce because they will take money out of your sale if usps charges them for addition postage. When weighing make sure you weigh in the box you’ll be shipping in. Please be careful with this app and protect yourself. Don’t be out like I am. They should really protect the seller because we are the ones making them money after all.

Worst platform for sellers

If you’re selling authentic designer items on here, I’d suggest you to sell it on other platforms that takes higher commission. Mercari do not care for sellers opinions. They said that returns are not allowed if the buyer changed their mind, but they’d approve a return and then limit your account saying that you’re selling fakes even if you have invoice and payment history as proof.

How do you not get scammed when you’re selling something but don’t receive the money until after the customer has confirmed they received it? What if they never confirm it even if they received it? Couldn’t they easily say they didn’t receive the item and get their money back? Like am I just supposed to trust that people aren’t dishonest scam artists???
