Terrible

Have yet to get it to read my John Wick 3 label. On top of that, code doesn’t work on its own either. Awful app, terrible execution.

Sad John Wick Fan

I was looking forward to adding John Wick 3 to my iTunes collection next to 1 and 2. However, after seeing the unanimously poor reviews for this app, the only reason I downloaded it was to give it my own 1-star review. I won’t be utilizing it, sadly, and will be left without the complete digital movie collection. I can only hope Lionsgate wises up and allows for the direct download of the movies I’ve purchased when they inevitably release the 4-movie collection in the future.

Why...?

Without a doubt the worst excuse of an app. The code redeem website is obviously non-functional on purpose to force you to download this app that looks like it was built by someone in high school in an afternoon just to scrape email addresses. The app looks nothing like the screenshots. Why cant we just redeem the codes online like every other movie studio disc purchases??? They dont even ask you to sign up for the whole “vip” thing. Its just an email scraper that generates a redeem code.

Worthless

I buy a movie, try to redeem it and the app doesn’t even work. Hot garbage. Lionsgate needs to get with the program and just use codes like every other distributor.

What’s the point ?

The trick to it just stand below your ceiling room light and slowly tilt the squared code and the little holographic shield. The little bug is the shield. Make sure the boxes inside the shield are reflecting just about right for a proper scan. A little bit inconvenient LIONSGATE, just merge with Vudu or Movies Anywhere already ?

Ridiculous privacy overreach

Studios need to understand that punishing the people who buy their products is counterproductive. First, they put warnings and unskippable trailers, now they require you to install an app and try to trick you into giving location access and your email address (you don’t need to do either). There was nothing wrong with just giving a written code; those worked fine. The more irritation that is introduced to punish paying customers, the more people will seek frictionless ways of enjoying the movies they want to watch. The user experience of watching a movie on YouTube is currently better than what studios are shoving down the throats of paying customers. We like your movies: we paid money to encourage their production, to be able to put them on our shelves, and add them to our digital libraries. You need to appreciate that and encourage it, not punish us.

Shameless data grab

It is beyond irritating that Lionsgate has you download their crappy app to redeem a digital code for a movie! Seriously?! Why can’t you do it like everyone else does via a URL with a code? Fast and simple. And to make matters worse, your app takes more steps and much longer in order to get the same result. Plus you want our email? Come on, Lionsgate. You’re making me not want to support you at all in the future.

Total trash

Went to add John Wick 3, error occurred when I scanned the symbol. Now I have no digital copy that I paid for and will have to cough up 19.99 directly to Apple and buy it through iTunes. Zero support from Lionsgate, if you get an error kiss your movie goodbye. Other users have pointed out how this whole app is a waste and it’s only purpose is to farm your email.

I downloaded this app only because the code it said to use below the QR was said to be “invalid” online at the website Lionsgate specifically said to redeem it at. So I unwillingly downloaded this app hoping to redeem my movie. Only the QR reader in the app keeps giving me errors whenever I try to scan the “holographic” strip. Overall this app has no need for existence and should be discontinued immediately. Lionsgate focus on making your codes actually redeemable at the websites you say to redeem them at instead of making a poor excuse for an app.

App doesn’t work

This app doesn’t redeem John wick 3
