The movieredeem.com site manual code entry does not work so you are forced to download the app and agree to its use terms before using the movie, which is not disclosed on the retail box. Furthermore you are required to allow your email to be used for fir marketing purposes for Lionsgate and its affiliates. This sort of corporate behavior is going to cause class action litigation agains Lionsgate at some point. In the meantime, we all suffer damages.

I’m having the same issue as everyone else with it not allowing me to scan. Waste of time especially since the other two movies in the pack I bought had easy Moviesanywhere codes...lionsgate fail.

You have to install this app to download your digital movie codes AND you have to share your location. What a stupid obvious ploy at getting my information. No other company makes you do this. It doesn’t add any value to the transaction, just another step between you and your film. Lionsgate also doesn’t allow their films on Movies Anywhere, which I didn’t realize until I redeemed my film on iTunes, but won’t transfer over to my Movies Anywhere library. This app is a joke, focus on consumer support instead of trying to steal our data.

Do not download. Just return your movie and select one from any other movie studio that uses established movie download services like movies anywhere, Vudu, etc., instead of using this absolutely pointless garbage! Traded my information to download the movie I purchased and then deleted the app immediately. In the future I simply will not buy movies that use a proprietary studio app for digital downloads. Until Lionsgate realizes their mistake they get none of my business. In additional the pointless nature of this app it is ridiculously hard getting the app to scan the hologram and QR code to actually redeem the movie.

Why not give us a code to redeem like every other movie I’ve purchased in the digital era? Instead, this app requires a scan of the QR code and associated hologram, which doesn’t work at all. Yes, you can email support the code, but really? All this effort to digitally watch the movie I already bought? Horrible business decision by Lionsgate.

It lets you scan the qr code, but you’ll have to redeem the alphanumeric code that it gives you afterwards on a computer, since the app doesn’t actually work beyond that point. Honestly the fact that this app needs to exist is itself a failing of Lionsgate, as it would be far easier to just have a alphanumeric code given in the box in the first place.

There's zero reason for this app to exist, other than to harvest personal information from your phone in exchange for redeeming the digital copy you already paid for. It provides zero user benefit, and its QR+hologram scanner is so extremely finicky that it barely works at all. Apple should remove this app from the App Store and force Lionsgate to go back to using a standard web site redemption code like every other studio has always used.

App was horrible. Download code didn’t work, scanning the QR code didn’t work. Whoever is in charge with this app needs to be fired. Not using Lionsgate crap again

If you’re having trouble redeeming your digital download, there should be something similar to this, after you put in the code: “Result: *** Code: ***”. Click that link or type the NEW code into whatever provider you chose. Not very user friendly. They should’ve partnered with Movies Anywhere like most of the major studios have.
