First review I’ve ever written. Sure, $15 isn’t crazy but after a few months I was already receiving products I’ve gotten before. Got 2 items I e already been sent in previous months in the same box. I’m cancelling my subscription now because the box I just received for November said “summer is here” and was an old box probably leftover from earlier in the summer. It’s just lazy and poor quality.

I have had this app for over 2 to 3 years and this brand from the first purchase I have made has been nothing but great specially during holidays even then they do such a great job well done Birchbox I don’t advocate the Birchbox monthly products I actually purchase individual full-size products on their app and website and it’s a great way because they have a rewards program which has great incentives where you get money back on you’re account to put towards your next purchase after making a purchase. I was truly loving the app and just purchased a very expensive hair dryer on sale on their app so we will see!

WORST subscription box EVER!!!!! Beware!

I have tried all of the small samples subscription boxes out there. And by far this is the worst. #1- they are shady!!!! I bought a year subscription in advance to save and pretty much get the last one free. So before the year ended I canceled it on the app. Well apparently that only canceled the year in advance renewal. I was FORCED into month by month payments. So I thought fine I can just cancel from here on out. NOPE!!! I was informed that I was pretty much in contract with them for the YEAR!!!!! That’s right 12 months! I had to pay month to month for the next 12 months with no options. #2- where are the makeup samples??? In the past 24 months I can hold the make up samples in one hand! While the soaps, creams and beauty regimen stuff makes 98% of your box. #3- repeated samples!! Ok so I’ve had it for 24 months maybe one or 2 are expected… but not within 3 months of each other!!!! I STRONGLY DISLIKE this box subscription. Do not recommend if it is gifted to You I highly suggest that you contact them right away and make sure you are not snaked into a contract.

I signed up for a 3 month subscription and the first month box to lure me in was of course nice. Second “box” contained the same brands I got the previous month and came in a mesh bag too flimsy and, frankly, ugly to reuse. I will not get my third box because I turned off auto renew, which doesn’t seem right. I can’t justify the cost of a subscription after three months. It would be worth it if i was allowed to choose from a list of products each month - or at least choose one of the samples each month. It’s more cost effective for me to buy a regular size product I know I’ll use. I’ve used 2 of the 12 products I received. If you are lucky enough to have the luxury of being able to pay for samples you probably won’t use, go for it. You might find stuff you like.

Boxes are in pretty packaging. Samples are decent. But only worth the price if you’re able to sign up during a discount period. And you will be spammed a ridiculous amount.

SCAMMERS! They will not allow a subscription cancellation. They signed me up for another 6 months at the end of my first 6-months, without my express permission. I only had a 6 month subscription. They charged me for month 7 and then told me I couldn’t stop subscription in the middle of it. DON’T GIVE THEM ANY CREDIT INFORMATION. They would not permit me to delete my credit card information unless I submitted another credit card number. There is no easy way to stop them.

And they have been charging me for a year and 3 months. What’s the point of choosing 3, 6 or 12 month gift card if they're just going to keep charging you afterward? Since it’s not under my account, I cannot go in a change it

This allows me to try several various makeup and beauty items before buying larger more expensive sizes. Great selection each month. It’s my special surprise each month when my box arrives. I highly recommend this subscription service. I have been a member for 3 years and I am still very pleased with everything. Great customer service, too.

Love Birchbox but…

I am a first time user of Birchbox and I have fallen in love with it already. I am looking around on the website and I’m thinking about purchasing a subscription. The only thing that I am having an issue with is that I need the app to be compatible with the voice over feature on my iPhone. I am totally blind and the only way for me to be able to access this mobile app is with voiceover. Birchbox, please fix this one bug so that I can do everything on the mobile app instead of having to use the desktop site all the time. Other than that, I absolutely love Birchbox.

I was gifted a subscription from my daughter from 2015-2019… I always loved the variety and if something came that I couldn’t use I would gift it and friends and family loved it… I had been hesitant to start a subscription with Birch Box selling and new ownership, Birch Box was always good quality and variety of products, I didn’t mind repeats samples as usually I would use them and enjoyed them… like Arrow color changing lip balm one of my favorites. I resubscribed..my 1st Jan 2022 Box was all but one hair products that I am unable to use… I hope we can receive more skin care and makeup variety along with beauty tools.. most of us subscribe for makeup and some skin care to try out. I’m hopeful Birch Box doesn’t change and remains an exciting and useful way to try new makeup and skincare. Would be good if we could include a type of product that we are not able to use like generic opt out of hair products or perfumed products/lotions.
