Great app, but dice rolls are skewed

EvanRG

It’s unfortunate that the game does so, but like many of the reviews before this one, my love of this app has slowly dwindled after seeing countless “perfect endings” and percentages skewed in their favor.

Best backgammon app but...

Laxdude25

Not the random dice throw I would hope. Increases difficulty but ensuring the perfect throw. Have now tested this after some initial disbelief and it’s true.

Don’t expect random dice rolls from the computer. Game ALWAYS finds a way to win. Certainly don’t pay for the premium version.

Roll dice to computer favor

Xhdj6373!

It’s completely ridiculous how the computer dice is to their favor every time. I can practically predict the dice. Don’t even waste your time.

Great way to get back into bgammon

me, world

Been away from the game for 15 years, it is teaching me incredible amounts. A tad clunky, but very helpful for learning.

20,000+games played

XG was decent before the last version and is now a much better game. The opponent moves are more thoughtful and penalties for poor playing more severe.

Great game

El Twister

Would love to see option to include analysis with export. Just marking error or blunders would be very nice. UI is excellent, well done. Kudos to the devs.

Frustrating!

Cannot agree more with mudsharkbyte’s review! The app is an excellent tool to improve your backgammon and I recommend it; however, after THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of games played in 5+ years I can confirm that, with odds far beyond normal, it throws miracle dice when it is in a desperate situation turning it upside down. This is of course frustrating because even if you play very well your winning chances are far below average.

Fun/Infuriating

Playerman.1

Come on . . . . There’s a pattern here, unbelievably fortuitous rolls, incredibly improbable doubles - like 3 or 4 in a row, gratuitous doubles when it’s losing. What a joke. The programmers must be snorting big time.

For the love of god, why is it so hard to make a random dice generator?

My favorite is when the AI tells me I’ve made a blunder, so I take back my move and go with the AI’s recommendation only the have the AI get some unbelievable roll and bump me.
