Excellent play at levels up to intermediate . Buggy!

... at least to the intermediate level it is. Developer, please keep the dice random... Always. We don't mind if it takes a little longer. Interface is easy to work with once you know where things are. Not intuitive. Would be good to put an obvious icon to touch for help. Free version is buggy and is a bad ad for the paid version. Paid version is also buggy. Continually crashes. Memory leak? Update after playing a bit over 1200 games. Dice are definitely not random. As other reviewers have noted, when you set the game play higher the computer simply develops miraculous luck. It might play a little better. But absurd runs of luck for the computer hide that. You will only develop so far without random rolls. Developer has done nothing about crashes. You will be lucky if you get more than four or five games in a row without crashing. At least you get practice swiping to clear the game out of memory to restart it. Not the "entertainment" you were seeking though. The fact this sorry excuse of a BG app is perhaps the best on iOS is perhaps a consequence of Apple's incomprehensible decision to not allow users to sort app searches by review score. The Google App Store is far more user friendly and does support that. Consequently Android apps actually get better over time. If I could get my $10 back I'd do so. Truly regret paying for this.

Update has completely failed. Constant crashes, no restore purchase. App has never been very stable, now is a disaster. IOS version is a crashing, mess of a program. The Android version is much more stabile. If you have an option, get it on Android. The IOS version is not worth the money. Better yet, get the computer version which is worth every cent. The mobile version is not in the same league as its PC brother.

I can see why all the skilled players I know have been consistently recommending this program. i am loving the tutor function. highly recommend this app for anyone interested in studying or playing the best game in the world.

I have been in contact with Zavier, the developer. This crashes constantly on my iPad. He said he knew of the problem when he wrote to me in December & stil has not fixed it. DO NOT BUY IT until he fixes it. A Rip off.

The dice on this app are not random. Expect serious bias toward the program player. Also, it is very buggy. After several months of issues it locked up so that I had to delete it and reinstall. Positive is it is visually appealing. The difficulty setting is a bit useless because of the biased dice rolls.

This game is so rigged!! I had a backgammon against computers and I got 1 point. Computer Gannon's me gets 4 points if doubled he gets 8 points. When I get a double shake I only get 2 moves, computers gets doubles he moves 4 moves . This happens all the time!!!! If I could give it ZERO stars I would but alas I can't ?

Though it may seem like it sometimes, I absolutely do not believe the dice in this game are rigged for the obvious reason that programming it to cheat takes a lot more work than just assuring the dice are truly random, plus, what's to gain by cheating? Nobody would want it. No, the problem with this app is the developer has left it in circulation riddled with bugs. One cannot get through a game without it crashing multiple times. This is a common complaint throughout these reviews. What's tragic is this is doubtless the best backgammon app out there and I've played most of them. It's so good many reviews accuse it of cheating. It deserves six stars for the quality of the backgammon play. I wish the developer would fix it. It's more than a little annoying that the best backgammon app currently available is nearly unplayable due to bugs. It can't be that difficult to fix.

I have been playing this game for about a year. Aside from the ridiculous dice rolls in favor of the app, it's one of the better apps. The up side is that if you can beat an app that clearly cheats, you play very well! That is the only saving grace. It is unfortunate that this app will not help you get a feel for statistically correct rolls. The dice are predictable and clearly in favor of the shady app. For lack of a better description, this game is designed to cheat. I will say that the look and feel is quite good. The developers would be well served to learn something about a random number generator and integrate that into the dice. Waste of time and money otherwise!
