Needs a bit of work.

When the application works, it works fine. Usually it doesn't work properly. The app does not display the correct alarm status unless you force close the app and reopen it. There is no way to refresh it otherwise. And now, since the last update, the app keeps randomly signing me out. Very frustrating.

Not impressed

The latest version stinks. It won't open and keeps on crashing. Bring back the previous version, it at least opened up. This is horrible. Edit: my original review is above regarding the previous version that was released a few days back (I would have have given zero stars if I could). This update seems to work this time around, so I changed the rating. I would have gone to 5 stars but I think better testing needs to be done before releasing an app. As this app is tied to home security, people shouldn’t be without a working version of the app. There really is no excuse for it not to work when it rolls out.

Good camera system a little buggy

FmeNoFU

Sales person called with a nice addition to xfinity home to add a camera, technician installed and worked. Next day our system got super buggy and couldn't use the app to lock, unlock or use the camera... Long story short sales person tried to wipe our account and start a new account so they could get a commission check for the sale. I'd like to meet that person and give them a peice of mind. But the other great people at xfinity rectified the problem and hopefully they catch the shystie bastard or bastardette... They should do away with commission for this specific reason! Middle finger flys for that pos person!

You might want to think about moving to a neighborhood with less vandals/crime! Seems like a common occurrence that you are reviewing video from your security camera trying to catch vandals on your property. Either that or invest some more serious coin into a more serious security system.. just my thoughts ? I, on the other hand, find the security system very easy to use and you can’t put a price tag on the peace of mind I get whenever I leave the house. The app is super user friendly, also. 5 Stars!

Battery hog, somewhat limited features

Mbierman

Biggest concern so far is that it seems to ear my battery like a PacMan. 26% in the first day! Even apps like IFTT and Workflow which similarly do a lot of background tasks use a fraction of that. Also, I wish that it was smarter. When I leave home Homeboy is smart enough to arm my cameras. XFINITY Home does not arm automatically. We are not using any of the camera features so I can’t speak to that. The mobile app lets me bypass a sensor when the alarm is armed but that does not work and the alarm goes off if you don’t bypass before setting the alarm. I wish you could bypass without disarming, but if you can’t the mobile app is really broken. You can set passcodes for a maid, dog walker, etc. very cool. When those codes are used however, you can’t get an alert. Not cool.

Every update something breaks

Yes I am running the latest version. Every time I quit the app which I have to do for it work I am now asked to sign in EVERY TIME. Please have someone test updates before releasing them.

It has improved tremendously!

I use to have connection issues and key pad issues quite often, but not any more. The camera comes on very quickly with out any problems. The key pad would flash orange colors and would not allow me to arm the device and of course, this would happen every time I am leaving out late for work. I would have to leave the house without arming the alarm, which is frustrating in itself. I couldn't even arm from a device either when this happens. This went on for ever! A technician came out a few times but changing out the equipment the key pad and the mini pad helped and I have been trouble free for a while now--knock on wood! So I am pleased with the alarm system now. The only problem I have is that the camera is noisy when it detect movements and it snaps on taking a picture. It is noisy in the day time too when everything is going on around the house I can hear it clicking. I wanted it to be inconspicuous and not letting everyone know it is in the room. The way I have it installed blends in nicely with my decorations but it is so noisy that it would make some one look for where the noise is coming from or what is that noise. This is why I didn't rate it a five star app.

Version 9.8.1 Works Great!
