Update Failure

11/03/2020 UPDATE ONCE AGAIN, the latest “update” is NOT working! How do you “update” an app as an “improvement” and the app functionality is non-functional?! Since the latest “updates” I can no longer use the app to remotely arm and or disarm my alarm. I cannot use Face ID to arm, disarm or even log into the system. In short the app in its current state is USELESS! Please FIX these issues immediately. Do not suggest that I post my concerns on your forum! As I will NOT! There are enough people making the same or similar complaints about the app, STOP making excuses and FIX IT!!! Since the latest update I am no longer able to remotely arm or disarm my system! I've been IN my home and the app does NOT connect! I've been in my garage and the app does NOT connect! Is there an internet speed problem you ask? Well, xfinity is my internet provider as well. The touch screen seems to randomly restart. I've been at work, or even sound asleep in the middle of the night AFTER I know (thought) the system was armed and I and my home are safe. Then suddenly, out of the blue, I get notification that the system has been armed! How does the system arm or re-arm itself once it has already been set? I am losing confidence in xfinity's ability to keep me and my home safe and secure!

Honestly, I don’t understand how anyone could give this app higher than 2 stars. I use the app to arm and disarm my home security system, and that’s it. I’d say it works maybe 30% of the time. When I get home, I’ll stand outside my door for minutes waiting for the loading wheel to stop so that I can finally disarm my alarm. One time I ended up just setting off the alarm and then disarming it from the keypad on my house. The times that it does work and I either arm or disarm my alarm, the UI barely works. Most times the timer to arm the system doesn’t even show..it just infinitely spins. When the app actually serves its purpose, it’s nice, but most of the time..it just doesn’t work.

I have had service for 5 yrs now. The only reason I am rating it a 3 star is because the only issue I have is that when you log out of the home app from your phone and want to log back in it says I have the wrong password. I have tried multiple times to log in but it will not let me. We haven’t changed the password at all. Over all the app is great but not happy that I can not log back into my phone. Please fix. Not sure if other people have experience this.

Vacation Mode / Extended Time Away

I love that I can set scenes to automatically set the alarm at night and disarm in the morning. It would be great when I set the alarm in AWAY mode, the system would recognize I am gone and the automations would be overridden. If I leave on vacation / extended time away, the alarm disarms in the morning. I have to delete the scenes to make sure the alarm stays set for the entire time I am away.

Overall this is a good app compared to some others I’ve had in the past. I just wish there was an app for the Apple Watch so I could easily arm/disarm without the phone.

I have to write my review here because the phone line is always jammed... The App work nicely... However, the hardware in the house (Meaning the 3 surveillance cameras that I’m paying for) is really faulty... To the point that I’m ready to cancel the service all together... Last year, lots of problems... Canceled, came back only for more of the same... Reboot the system time after time... No effect... As of today, only 1 out of 3 cameras works... If you look at my account you’ll find that 2 cameras haven’t been working for a while now... And yet I have to pay the monthly charge for this useless service... This is my last attempt to call the Company’s attention to my account before cancellation...

I only use my app for turning on/off my alarm and that’s it. The app is constantly slow despite having superior internet speeds. Another thing is that sometimes when I use the app to set or turn off my alarm, it will say that it did successfully but then I’ll walk into my house and the alarm will go off because the app never truly turned it off despite saying so. Same goes with setting the alarm, it will say that it does and I’ll get the notification but then I find out the alarm never actually set.
