Horrible App Issues!!

UPDATE: I unplugged my cameras and uninstalled the app from my phone and had no ‘crashing’ issues on my phone at all. After a few months, I was hoping that there was some kind of an update that had eliminated this terrible situation. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I set everything up and it works/looks perfectly, but with each notification it reboots my phone! HORRIBLE! I gave 3 stars overall (rather than 1), because I think that, that this is a truly excellent product for the cost. I currently have 2 cameras that work great. I read reviews prior to buying and decided to invest in SD cards, which was a great bit of advise. The problem that I have is the APP. Previously it was completely shutting off the WiFi on my phone every time I received a notification. I would literally be in the middle of a phone call - receive a notification - and it drops my call! Repeatedly over and over and over for months. Now, with this newest update, almost every notification reboots my phone - basically like my phone is just crashing. Some times it will just completely shut it down and not reboot. I will not complain about personal preferences and things that I think that this product should/shouldn’t have - for the money, I think it’s great. BUT these app glitches are completely unacceptable!! I am missing phone calls because it has shut my phone off!!

I contacted support about this but they told me to put this on some weird Wyze wishlist forum. No thanks. It’s not a “wish”, it’s an issue with the app. The app is using massive amounts of background resources once closed. My iPad reports 10 hours on screen and 78 hours background activity. My iPhone also reports Wyze is using a ton of background resources once closed. My batteries are getting killed by this app. I have to remember to force close them every time or else my battery will be dead in a few hours. Again, support was useless. This is a BUG. Fix it now!

App and cams work well - needs landscape mode

App and cameras work great considering they are budget devices. The Wyze app really needs a landscape mode for iPad. I use an iPad with an attached keyboard and of the 30+ apps I use, this is the only one that doesn’t have a landscape mode. It is awkward to use and frustrating to have to hold the iPad in portrait with the keyboard on the side and then use the soft keyboard. Would be a solid four stars with landscape mode.

I have 6 additional Wyze Cameras in top of my Night owl security System. I have the Wyze Cameras and Sensor for extra Security, and I’ve never had any issues with any of the cameras. The only thing that I’ve had some issues, has been with the Contact Sensors, they will connect to the Network, but ones in a while they will unpaired by it self, and I have to redo all of them again. Some of them are still disconnected, be-caused I gave up on them. I have Changed the batteries for new ones, downloaded all the new versions, and they still not working. So, If I could get any help, ideas on what to do that I haven’t done already, I will appreciate it... Please, let me know if I can get any help fixing this Contact Sensors especially that ones that goes on the doors, because they’re very helpful to have. Overall, I will have to give the Wyze Team an 5 * for the good quality product and for the great work they are doing for our safety and the safety for our feature Family. Suggestion for wyze outdoor - either let users decide the detection range or for 180 degree turn, invert the detection area. I have a starter kit including sensors. Everything used to work fine. All of sudden both sensor have stopped working at all. Not sending any notifications or updating the status in the app. I did reset the device but still not working. There is no use of these sensors if not sending any notifications. Update - I guess Wyze has resolved the issue for notifications.

No iPad landscape mode??

Why is there no landscape mode for iPad? It’s so annoying to have to turn my iPad to portrait mode when I want to use this app (mainly because it’s in a keyboard case). This app has been around long enough for the developers to make this possible in one of their releases. Is it on the backlog of features to come?

I used to love Wyze but now...

I used to be a dedicated Wyze fan because of the low prices of their products. The quality of their products has been fairly good at first but lately it seems like they have been less and less reliable. I often have to reset or even delete the products from my Wyze app and then re-add them only to have them fail again. And yes I have the latest versions of the firmware and also the app itself. And they’re connected to my 2.5ghz wifi network so the connection isn’t the issue. And then I bought a pack of sensors and one of them seemed to be broken as it didn’t respond at all when I tried to set it up. And when I shook it a little I could hear a sound like a broken spring inside or something. I contacted Wyze about it but didn’t get any response. I was really considering buying their Wyze smart door lock but I just can’t risk the security of my home to a product that more than likely will give me problems also. I have always been an early backer of their latest products but again I’m starting to have second thoughts about continuing to do so. I really really wanted to like Wyze but when I am having all these problems with their products and then I start trying out similar products from other brands and not having any problems with those other brand’s products then I have to reconsider my dedication to this brand. Again I was really hoping that Wyze would be for me so I could be all into their Wyze ecosystem but now...
