I’ve owned a WD MyBook Live for a number of years. All worked fine with the app until one app update and it no longer supports WD MyBook Live. This means I must buy another storage device, which may or may not be made by WD. Would like WD to make an app that supports all their devices, even if a legacy device that was once supported.

This app and the wd mycloud drive is a piece of cr*p, it’s so slow and i constantly have to go through the ad a devise setup procedure.
Can I give it zero stars?

Can’t even connect to the My Cloud EX4 device through a mobile phone or iPad which pretty much defeats the purpose of the device in the first place. Gonna end up throwing it out most likely. What a waste.
Backs up photos for more work

The files do not return their order or any meta data to show date and time properties which makes it insane to use!

Cell phone info: - Their mycloud help page states that it supports MOV & MP4 formats but it won’t play them. - when I download photos they don’t all download. Some download but with a blacked out picture so you have to figure out which picture from your phone it is which is impossible because the thumbnails never produce previews - after each download of files from my phone I have to restart the app in order to select and download more files. The whole reason I got this Hard Drive was so I could download photos and videos from my phone to produce more space on my phone but still have access to them from anywhere. This is just not possible with the way it is set up. I can not download pictures to the hard drive and trust that they will work and delete them from my phone. If I would have done that I would of lost a lot of great videos and photos of my newborn. I will just be downloading to my computer and looking for a different hard drive that will work for demoting in from anywhere.

I feel I’m a boss using this app. I feel I am a techy using this app. It is so easy and convenient. I used it automatically and instantly with no reading or no video to help me learn that’s how easy they made out. User friendly Big time.
Doesn’t even work

Detects my cloud drive locally but can’t access it because this useless app doesn’t show a keyboard to enter the password when prompted to login. Used to work (poorly) now the new version on iPhone 12 pro max doesn’t work at all.

The app seems to be good until it stops synchronizing. If the mobile device is not in the same network, files may not be available.
