Simply does not backup files. It is November 3rd and my last file backed up was in September. When I open the app and check activity, I get “Auto Backup...Waiting” that never changes. I do not take a load of photos, it shouldn’t take long, but there is no change and no upload.

I have owned a My Cloud drive for 5 years. It was always problematic. One day it stopped working. I could not access it or even find it on my home network. I did some checking and found out Windows 10 stopped allowing local access to NAS devices. No more local access. I logged in to my WD account, and much to my surprise, all my files were there. This works much better. Much more dependable and fast up load and download. This is way faster the One Drive, Drop Box, or ICloud. I use my iPad to take pics of my jewelry and do a first edit on the iPad them upload to My Drive via the iPad app that appears in the “Share” function. I then finish editing on my desktop. The down load speed to my desktop is much faster then from One Drive. Finally this works as it should.

I like the app easy way to save big files from my job and access it easy and yes need some improvements that let you work with other applications like plan grid

It’s 2020 and can’t view all file formats uploaded from an iPhone. That makes no sense.

Works about 80% of the time at home, but only maybe 30% of the time away from home when you really want it to. But when it does work it works good.

This app is unusable

About 1 year this app is absolutely unusable. Everytime I try to use it to connect to my WD device this app hang device and makes its web interface unusable. I have to power off/on. It worked fine about 2 years ago but now it doesn’t work at all.

Well what can I say. New app didn’t do much in changes but one thing I did notice is now when phone in dark mode password protect is different. Will not show any numbers being type into the 4 pin box. As far as the Wd Mycloud itself, there hasn’t be any update to firmware for over a year. Which is horrible for security issues. Another thing is they should update what codecs can be used and picture formats. Having over 5000 pictures and videos stored on my drive it would be nice that the media player can play and view all formats. My review is a low one for the product and the app. The plus side when I bought it years ago it was affordable!

The hardware is nearly unusable as the software almost never connects, needs a reboot and/or transfers so slowly when I’m on the same subnet!

I don’t know what wd is doing? Can’t connect anymore outside of my own network. Now the mycloud is just a storage drive with no internet cloud features
