New Year’s Eve

Fink home

Had 2 intruders in my home and no camera on my home! Pitiful!

Thermostat is not obedient

Thackmaster

No matter how I edit the “set points,” I always wake in sweat at 3am to a blaring heater and an unresponsive app. Kind of scary relinquishing control of your thermostat to some glitchy app. Wish I could rewind to 1995 when those thermal expansion coil thingies were the go-to thermostat.

Not a big fan

S&RP1234

I’m not a fan of the wires everywhere and they refuse to install them in the walls. The app can be glitchy and slow at times which is an issue when you’re trying to shut it off remotely so the alarm doesn’t go off. We still have not received equipment we paid for at time of install, which is over two months now. They were unable to install the panel where the previous alarm company had installed a panel; next to the garage door. They said they need an outlet to plug it in. So this means a criminal can just unplug my equipment to disable it. Unlike those that run a line in your walls so this can’t happen. I had asked for the remote garage door opener as my garage door opener is compatible, but instead they just installed a garage door sensor. This is not what I wanted. The initial sales rep I met through the home show tried to scam me and was quite shady. I paid for the equipment outright and I did not want a contract. He attempted to still sign me up for a five year contract and stated I still had to do a credit check and I could pay the entire thing off the following day. Also, he kept saying he is giving us all these special deals. I asked for a breakdown of all the items and he refused to provide a list. We were told not to talk to other Vivint reps or customers. My wife contacted the corporate office and we were advised we were being signed up with a five year contract. These all might seem like minor issues, but they add up.

Update

djsn98

Needs updated it’s still not showing the proper times when the cameras detect someone

Buggy software

DisappointedMom22

Doesn’t work. Can’t delete user via app or panel, even with most recent updates. Very clunky user interface. Will be looking to cancel my subscription.

It’s like having nothing

Gusher4538

This app is worse than the app it replaced. It always crashes and get stuck on on screens.

Long Sigh

Mo82!

I’m honestly not a big fan of Vivint or the app at this point. My cameras have had zero working play back features for months. I’ve spoken with 6 reps, gone through way too many trouble shooting options, and my latest call to Vivint to resolve this issue lasted for over an hour. They’ve finally agreed to send someone to my home to look at the system. I’m tired.

Need Better Doorbell Cam Functionality

MisTaParker

Overall the app works great. However, when someone rings the door bell, we should be able to tap the notification and have the app open with the doorbell cam full screen. Right now it just opens the app, which then requires the user to have to navigate to the doorbell cam live feed and it just takes too long. Most of the time delivery drivers are gone before I can get the camera to load up. If that feature was added I would give 5 stars…

MAKE IT EASIER TO WATCH MULTIPLE CLIPS WITHOUT HAVING TO RELOAD THE LIST EVERY TIME

Jordanrjdnakfnakf

This is my biggest complaint with this apps design. Truthfully the good parts of the app are the company’s services, like the cameras and security system. The app alone leaves a lot to be desired in the way of user friendliness. It was probably designed be people who don’t have to use it. I’ve been broken into multiple times and when I’m reviewing camera footage over the last week to see when my car was hit or whatever, I have to reload the list of clips after every clip i watch. It’s unendingly frustrating. If you could fix just this, which I have little faith this review will even find purchase in your ranks, I will revise this review with a 4 star.

Doesn’t work when I need it most.

Fireball ?

My boyfriend and I both have had issues with opening & closing the garage door when we are parked in our own driveway. We get error messages that range from “The Garage Door is Offline” to “The Garage Door is Transitioning, Please Wait Until It Is Finished.” What does that even mean?! I haven’t been able to talk to people at my doorbell or in my driveway because the talk button is grayed out. At one point, the front door lock stopped working and the garage door wouldn’t open/close. We couldn’t get into our own home! Not worth the hassle if you ask me. Garage door button and basic front door key are more effective than these “high tech” gadgets.
