Bad service, app crushes frequently

Jomp1989

1st of all I was referred to Uber last year. I completed the trips and the person who referred me got his bonus and I did as well. However, I referred a friend and this time it had been such a difficult process to get my bonus. Seems customer service keeps on giving me excuses about it. It asked me to upload background check. What!!! I don’t do that nor have the option for it. I keep calling and he service is horrible I keep getting people who tells me they check and check my account and nothing has happened

The lack of stability has become an issue with IOS users

The app crashes multiple times per day, along with a marked regression in the navigation function, the weekly updates never seem to happen. The bloated features of the app are unnecessary, badges and game like faux prizes don’t help us run the calls for service.. the tracking app is inaccurate as it literally told me I had 12 hard stops on a trip that lasted 600 yards.. the application has begun to over clock even late model phones memory functions. More is not always better.

Wasted time

I’m a driver in Raleigh NC and this has happened several times to me. I wait more than an hour at the designated Uber pool to receive my ride passenger. I get the ping and start to the terminal zone 1 or 17, but halfway their approximately a half mile I get the cancellation ping on my phone. I receive not one penny for it and am placed back in rotation in the back of the line with usually more than 45 cars I front of me. It is not fair and something needs to be done about this. No money for cancellations and being put back into the last car in the rotation. Really not cool and not a good business practice. This will not keep happening to me ... I promise. Something will have to change.

Needs help...

I experience more app crashes then anything else, especially when on a trip. The navigation is also terrible.

Navigation bugs

The Uber app (iPhone version) navigation is usually pretty good once you get used to some quirks, but an issue when doing Pool rides is that the app doesn't display the pickup address of the second or third riders when driving the first one in progress. It just says that a new rider has been automatically accepted and starts giving directions, but it doesn't display to where in advance (until I'm practically there). A few nights ago this caused me to be directed into an awful traffic jam in Boston, with my first pool rider in the car, that could have been easily avoided if I had only known the exact address/location of the second rider in advance. It never displayed it until I was practically at the address.

A terrible App

I just went over 1000 drives this week as an Uber Driver. My rating is 4.96 and I have over 630 5-Stars. I say this not to impress you but to validate my experience with Uber. The App is FAR from perfect and downright exasperating at times. The biggest problem is there is no one at Uber Support that you can talk to. If you write Support, you get a response back from someone who has never been an Uber Driver and who doesn’t take the time to throughly read your message. As a result, the response you get has little to do with the problem you presented. I enjoy driving Uber Riders but Uber Corporate needs people who care about customer service and about getting BETTER, not just Bigger!

Lots of work

Jsto on

Have been driving for 8 months now. I like it have made several requests to have a better GPS system like Waze to be utilized. Roads are not being shown that have been around for years. There is no option to pic the best routes. Customers penalize us for Uber’s inability to have a good GPS option. I have a good rate. 4.86. But with all the Navigation issues I’ve had it took me 6 months to learn my own routes. We have the technology to get live traffic updates. Well now that legislation has passed to lower the Taxes. I hope Uber will be able to provide customers with the confidence they deserve to get with our service. Also rates are laughable at best. I live in Iowa. The average taxi per mile is 5.00 per mile with .25 per minute wait and travel time. In my town I get less that I would if I drove in a smaller town. I’ve suggested on opinion request for feedback not only the GPS problem...(side note. The live pick up is just a joke. Nice try) but universal rates. This way it is fair to all drivers no matter where you are state wide. Our state has the population of a large city. I get it. But it’s not fair to have to travel out of my city just to make good money. I should be able to make the same anywhere I go. If let’s say we could get 1.00 per mile and .15 per minute for wait time and travel time and make it state wide... that seems fair for all. And it’s still cheaper than taking a Taxi. If these can change the I will be happier. But honestly I don’t think Uber cares enough to do. We shall see.

Stay away

This is a true fact. Uber takes your tips. Uber also does not back its drivers. If a Rider does damage to you car you have to pay for it. The deductible is $1500 so if 300 dollars damages is done Uber won’t do a thing. Just like in the U.K. Uber should be banned from the US.

Use Google Maps, Fix ratings bug

BryceThayer

Extremely nasty bug where app freezes when you try to rate the passenger Also, Uber should use Google Maps like Lyft does.. The only reasons they do not use Google is purely selfish/greedy reasons. Google maps integration will be better for drivers and riders alike Lastly it’s time to update the Logo

UberEats mandatory?

NoEats

The current app has removed the option to set whether I want to do uberEats deliveries. I don’t want to do deliveries, but I keep getting delivery requests. Seems like the only option is to logout. Does this mean I have to accept deliveries if I want to drive for Uber?
